Crew of the Week Shaktoolik

Over the past few weeks, the Buzz has thought Crew of The Week wasn't at a very good standard. So, we've decided to change the format for good. Please BootMail FrickTional or SeanNeverDies about how you feel about this new change. This week, the Buzz has made 23rd Gunslinger Co. crew of the week, as we feel the crew is promising. We got in touch with Suzpaz, a general of the crew, and FunkSoRama, the owner and boss.

"23rd are a crew based on friendship, loyalty, respect and professionalism. We do not go around looking for publicity, but it's always nice to be recognized for the great crew we are," said Suzpaz on how it felt to be made crew of the week. He later added, " I'm sure, in this article, the comradeship and professionalism we weigh so much will come through to the readers. I think Mr. Frick recognized our way of playing the game, and wanted to bring focus on a play-style that is beginning to become less and less frequent in the world of Bootleggers. We don't want to pick up the torch and lead a revolution, but if someone can look at us, and be inspired by our way of playing... well, that's a good thing."

The Buzz then moved on to why he thought his crew was chosen. Suzpaz said, "We are a nation of one. Ready to die, and ready to kill. Our faith will not falter, our strength will not crumble. Our loyalties lie with the good of the many, and the respect we have belongs to whom have earned it. You will not receive mercy from us, nor will you receive any pity. We are the soldiers of the 23rd Gunslinger Co, and we will fight until there is nothing left to be fought for. We are... Born for War."

The Buzz decided to dwell a little bit in the history of 23rd, and asked Coastie (FunkSoRama) what the history of it was. He explained, "We were founded on April 4th and originally known as "Lights Out," with just myself, Fowl, Sabatti, DT0X, among others. We were originally founded on the principles of being a UG power-house and defending the 'old skool' ways that the new generation of Bootleggers players have seem to forgotten. However, we made a few kills here and there and we were told we were "pussies for hiding." That amongst other things had us come out of the shadows and do some recruiting for some of the most unique players you'll find. I can safely say we have the hardest "open" recruiting phase of any crew. We always attack on principle. We will never be a bully like rev, EL, and even what EH was beginning to be. I got deployed to Iraq, and it was decided that we would temporarily retire. Well, the guys stuck together and 23rd came back, back to how it is today."

The Buzz chose 23rd Gunslinger Co. as Crew of The Week because we thought it was the most promising crew. If it gets shot, the crew keeps throwing the punches, if its members have real life difficulties, the crew is brought back for the members. This is amazing for any crew, when most get wiped they throw in the towel.
