The Mother's Day Massacre DejaVu

Mother’s Day is a special day. It’s a day for all of us to show our appreciation to the person who brought us into the world. While most of us were spending the day with our loved ones, the Bootleggers forums were very quiet. At 5:55 PM Bootleggers time, however, that quickly changed.

Evenflow, a member of Event Horizon (also known as EH), had been shot. Although members of crews get shot everyday, this was only the beginning. Within minutes, we watched as six more members of EH were laid to rest on the stats page including the Boss, MzB herself. What exactly was going on? The Game Forum erupted with threads almost immediately and everyone seemed to be just as curious as I was. With witness statements floating around, the killers finally had a name.

Jackalope (an outsider), and voinik, the EH recruiter were behind this killing spree. At that moment the crew fell into the hands of voinik and one by one the members of EH were kicked from their home. Would this be the end? Had we just witnessed a crew takeover? My questions were answered as the stats page continued to show the names of deceased EH members. After a kill at 6:30 PM, Jackalope was kind enough to speak to me about the events that had led to the massacre.

So what had caused the Mother’s Day Massacre? Jackalope informed me, “Betty and one of her dirty mod friends screwed over a friend of mine.” With 490,000 crew bullets in the EH crew spot, it was “payback time” and this spree would come quiet easy for the killers. I was told that the killing would continue until all resources had been used and the spot would be sold before the evening was over. The killings would indeed resume, around 8:07 PM with the final member being shot at 9:29 PM.

In three and a half hours, a total of thirty-five members had been laid to rest. This massacre included two Legendary Dons, four Respectable Dons, twenty-six Dons, two Legendary Godfathers, and a Respectable Boss. With the remaining money in the crew bank, the name was changed to PWNED. From there a handful of low ranked members under Boss were let into the crew spot, a decision that would be costly. Would this be the end of Event Horizon? According to MzB, two people were already searching for Jackalope and voinik.

An unnamed Don came to the aid of EH and not only applied, but got accepted into the PWNED spot. Just moments later, at 9:52 PM, both Jackalope and voinik were shot and the crew was in the hands of this unnamed Don. In four hours, we watched EH fall, recover from a grizzly attack, and end up back at home in their crew spot. Congratulations on a valiant effort! I was advised that this attack was unnecessary as MzB had fought with Sabin about the ban, leading to the demotion from her Help Desk Operator (HDO) position. Was all of this for nothing?

Here at the Buzz we are dedicated to bringing you the truth. To do so, I decided to continue my investigation into the reasons behind these shootings. When a player gets banned, the reason is between him/her and a member of the Elite Guard. Because of this, I could not confirm the allegations of a dirty Moderator helping MzB ban Jet750 A.K.A. Anasazi. However, a member of the Elite Guard confirmed that MzB was stripped of her HDO position for being involved with the leaking of State Don information, not defending a player from an unfair banning.
