Hitlist Headache Broken

On January 24th, one player’s complaint about an empty Hitlist turned into the one thing that caused him to meet his maker. What happened exactly? Let’s find out.

The name of the unfortunate player was blueangels, who complained about the fact that the Hitlist was empty, and that he wanted somebody to kill. Problem was, he didn’t see what was coming next. At 6:43am Boot Time, blueangels was placed on the Hitlist by PerV for a total of $30,000. This appeared to be nothing more than a joke as many players would have thought that a Respectable Boss would die for such an amount of money, since searching for him alone would cost more. Fifteen minutes later however, at 6:58am Boot Time, things got interesting.

After already being added to the Hitlist again for $40,000, blueangels found himself on top of the Hitlist after a $555,555 addition by Numb3r2. This got people in the Game Forum talking, not the least blueangels who was far from amused. Unfortunately for him, his anger didn’t get him anywhere as many people started following suit as a joke. MafiokII started a contest where the person who added him to the Hitlist for the highest amount of money won 25 points. While Numb3r2 subsequently won this contest, it resulted in a flood of hitlistings for blueangels, ranging from just $1 to $133,337.

By the end of the hitlisting, it was estimated that blueangels was on the Hitlist for somewhere in the region of $1,500,000 to $1,800,000. The exact amount blueangels was on for cannot be determined due to people adding on and buying off money during the time leading to his death. What is certain though is that whatever amount of money was on the Hitlist, it was attractive to somebody as blueangels was killed at 2:47pm Boot Time. However, the kill was no ordinary kill as blueangels arranged his own death. The person who killed blueangels was somebody called Cheese4Free. I had a word with Cheese4Free and asked him about his reasons for the kill, he had this to say.

“I decided I would take the kill, I knew exactly when to shoot on the dot, and I fired 5k bullets, to be sure of the kill. And low & behold, blueangels was killed.”

As it turns out, it looks like blueangels got the last laugh, making sure the killer was somebody he wanted after selling his protection, despite losing his account.

There is a lesson to be learned out of all this and that lesson is the Game Forum may not be the best place to vent out your frustrations as you may end up on the receiving end of somebody else's.

Happy Gaming!
