Interview with Sweetie Doosy

As promised in last week’s issue of The Bootleggers Buzz, Sweetie was kind enough to answer a few questions about her recent promotion to Moderator, the things she would like to do, and even share a funny story about the promotion itself.

The first question I asked, had to do with the biggest differences in being a Moderator and a regular player. “The biggest difference for me now would have to be the different ticket categories I get to answer,” Sweetie told me. “Before if I received tickets that needed to be sent to Elite Guard I never had the chance to help with answering those, and now I can.” As of Saturday afternoon, the current amount of open tickets was pretty low at 1,466. This is due to the determination of our Moderators, to get all of those questions answered and problems sorted.

Like many others players, I wondered if Sweetie had any big plans or goals to accomplish with the new position. “I'd like to help Bootleggers any way I can. That’s about all I have planned so far,” she mentioned. It also shouldn’t be a problem for a former Help Desk Operator known for her kindness and desire to help others.

On to the fun questions! I was curious to find out how Sweetie’s first week as a Moderator was, and find out if she had any likes or dislikes. “My first week was a lot different,” she said, adding “There’s so much to learn and I'm anxious to keep on learning. I'm used to helping the new players and in my first week it was me getting the help.” Proof, that even the most knowledgeable players are still learning. She didn’t have any dislikes in regards to the new position.

Not wanting to take up a lot of Sweetie’s time, I had one final question to ask. I was curious to ask how she found out she was the newest Moderator. This proved to be a pretty funny story. “My promotion was a real shocker. There were witnesses to that too. I was in the bl main channel on irc explaining a few things about bootleggers to a new player. All of the sudden Sabin said he felt that I’m not needed as a hdo anymore. I was thinking I messed up big time but couldn't figure out how. I was a little embarrassed as well. In front of everyone I had my yellow stripped from me. Sabin asked me to become a Moderator right after that. So for all those nosey players (I know I'm one of the nosey ones), come in irc sometime. You might get to see some interesting things in there. I'd also like to say a big thank you to the staff for helping me so much the first week.”

Again, we at The Buzz would like to say thank you to Sweetie for taking the time to speak to us. We wish you the best with your new promotion!
