A Day in the Life Subvenio

I would like to welcome you all to the first of many articles in the series named: "A Day in the Life." The aim of the series is to try and bring players closer to some interesting positions others hold in the game. This week, I would like to present the position of Crew Recruiters to you.

For those of you that are not familiar with what a crew recruiter is, here is a short introduction. A recruiter is the first person that you would normally contact when wanting to join a crew. They are what keeps crews flowing with fresh blood and where you send in your application when wanting to join a crew. Smaller crews normally have one, maybe two recruiters where as larger crews are known to have up to 4.

Every crew has recruiters, and we were lucky enough that many of them gave full cooperation for the article. Firstly we have asked them, if they can describe their daily experience with applicants. All participants have said the same thing. Holding the position of a recruiter is demanding and sometimes even frustrating as some would do everything to lie their way into the crew. However, not all applicants act in that manor. Some do indeed have vouches, but a verification is also needed, which is where sending/receiving more Bootmails is needed. Upon verification a discussion with the crew council is also needed, which is probably why it might seem that it takes ages for a reply from the crew.

This is when we wanted to know what the communication between the crew council and crew recruiters is like. Of course all have stated that it is of top importance, as it is a group decision whether or not to let someone into your crew. Some rules do apply when it comes to communication, however, when it comes to a normal communication they talk as they would to other crew members.

To finish off the question to shortly describe their job was asked. All in all they have all stated that it is sometimes hard, sometimes difficult, but always enjoyable.

So when you next apply to a crew and you wait days for a reply, keep in mind that you are not the only applicant and that sometimes it may take time for your application to pass. But if there is one thing you can count on, is that you will always receive a reply, whether it be today, tomorrow, or the day after.

Happy gaming and good luck with your applications!
