Buzz Sound Off! Nyxxie

This week's topic is about a rule that has been placed in this game for quite some time. Before Monday of this week, Ban on Sight (BOS) players were not to be mentioned anywhere in the forums. Since then, this rule has been lifted, allowing players to discuss the names of players on the list, but not the reason these players have been placed on this list.

THE QUESTION
Do you feel this will be better or worse for the game and the forum? What are your stances on this new allowance given to the players?

THE OPINIONS
"Sure, theres no harm in mentioning a Bos player." ~ Arsinic

"I dont see any reason why any BoS players would need to be mentioned anyway, but sure allowance is reasonable if people feel like falsely giving them attention." ~ DeadHerring

"I don't see why we're not allowed to talk about BOS players, we're allowed to talk about Osama Bin Laden, and he's far more dangerous." ~ DoomSpell

"I didn't even know it wasn't allowed." ~ STK87

"I didn't think we should just pretend someone didn't even exist when he/she was put on the BoS." ~ VimPrestixioX

"Quite frankly banned players have impact on players. Thus it becomes game related discussion. Often banned players take up crew slots or BF slots and very frequently SDons+ are consumed by people who have been banned. In relation to BoS players open discussion is much better. If they can be named and identified then players can know not to associate with them if that is their choice so members of EG cant then persecute that player later for knowing of BoS players or associating with them." ~ Magz

"Overall, I guess it's fine, but for the most part feel no need to talk about BoS players or why they are banned. I don't think it's really better or worse, it's just a slight change" ~ JesusDidMary

"IMO, there should be a public list. Some players are obvious they are Ban on Sight but there very well could be some we don't know about and may later end up meeting them and not knowing they are Ban on Sight. If we know, then we can do what we can to avoid them. It just needs refinement. There's no reason for it to be discussed in the game but there should be an official list viewable to the public without login access and searchable by Google of players names and their confirmed aliases. Then it can be closed off to no discussion in the forum since everybody knows who is BoS and who isn't. The biggest issue with BoS wasn't that people wanted to talk about, it was that people didn't necessarily know who was BoS." ~ SixRounds

"Names should be permitted. Several users have unfortunatly been caught up with teaming up with BoS users, but without knowing. Being they have aided them, they've been banned for promoting the cheats/reasons they were orignally banned for." ~ Shaggerty

"Personally, I don't care what someone did to get on the BoS list, and I don't like gossip. But for the good of the BL community and people's enjoyment of the game, I'd say YES, this is an improvement. If a player is put on the BoS list, the matter has been dealt with, and it's time to move on." ~ Mus
