On Sunday in Bootleggers Buzz an article about the first R.Don was published which divided the Bootleggers world to abuse of a feature or is it fair, all he did was attempt to hit-list someone as a Don so is this abuse of the hit-list feature? Or should this be allowed? And should there be an option to hide your Don rank or should it be made public like every other rank?.
We'll bootleggers here is my personal opinion on this issue:
People should not be able to hide there true rank it should be the risk you take by become the first Respectable Don or Legendary Don and if you can hide your rank there should be away to reveal it maybe not by hit-list but doing a search on the person.
Using a Private Investigator because this forces them to spend the money to find a rank instead of just not having enough money on hand but only the top two P.I's should reveal a true Don rank so it causes you to need to spend large amounts of cash to reveal it. I think this is a fair way to keep the ability to hide rank yet still have a way to find it as shooting anyone you should be able to know there true rank.
As with the hit-list if you keep the ability to hide rank the cost of hit-listing should be the same for all Don's from Don to Legendary Don to stop people being able to abuse the feature, Although it was technically abuse of a loophole i don't believe Afty is to blame it was a flaw in the coding by BSF and in my view the buzz article has drawn attention to this error and the loophole may of been used by others but they didn't publish it so it went unnoticed so in my view a ban would be very unfair and over reacting to something that
has been abused by others but because they didn't publish it no one could prove it.
So to sum up in my view either remove the ability to hide your Don rank and take the risks that the game should be about of have another way to find out the true rank there should be no hiding or protecting of R.Don's or L.Don's
its the risk they take and if were protecting them now what is the point of having R.Don or L.Don why not just go Don to State Don if it will just show Don as L or R.Don then the rank is useless but that's just my personal opinion.
I asked a few members of the bootleggers community the same two questions about this issue this is what they had to say:
First i asked Do you think that there should be the option to hide your rank?
"yes, I have no problems with that and think it's an effective way to reach s.don before getting shot"

"Seeing as the bullet amounts needed to kill someone are way higher now I don't see why people would kill high ranks just for the hell of it.
So in my opinion it should be removed"

"its not what the hit-list was created for.. its just another loophole and like all other loopholes they are forbidden. The hide don rank was implemented for a reason.. Its so others wouldn't find out your true rank. By hit-listing with not enough cash on hand would suggest you never intended to hit-list them and if it were to succeed you'd buy it off since you didn't intend to do it"

Then i asked if its wrong to use the hit-list to find there true don rank?
"Well I don't think that it should be a ban-able offense, while it might be frowned upon it is something that isn't considered cheating in my eyes. I think the fault lies more with how the hit-list was developed
should be fixed so all don's require same hit-list, admins shouldn't punish players for doing something that is built into game poorly... and before that last buzz article iv seen that mentioned before in game forum as well as crew forums so it's not like they unveiled some big secret"

"of course it's wrong, hide Don rank was implemented so that no one could see the specific don rank someone is. Using other ways to find out is wrong. But I find that BSF should make it so that there are no other ways to find out someones specific don rank"

As you an see the community is divided but what do you think? Should the hide rank be removed? Should Hit-list be changed to any rank of Don should cost the same? And do you think it was clear abuse using Hit-list in this way?
