So, we all know those annoying people on Bootleggers, I’m not talking about the players who spam, talk non-sense, troll the forums, send abusive messages via BM, or any kind of disruptive player… the players that I’m talking about are the quiet ones, who simply login, play the game and never interact with other users. Yeah, those guys are the scourge of the community, they bring the game down! Isn’t the phrase that sums up the internet “If you’ve got nothing abusive to say then GTFO”?
However, you might’ve run into a little problem… see, in real life, when someone annoys you, then you can just go all 2008 Brock Lesnar on their ass, slap on a chokehold until they turn blue, then pull their pants down and run away. You might’ve noticed that it’s not possible to do that on Bootleggers. I hear rumours that BSF is working on the feature, but rumours are only ever rumours. So, this begs the question, what can you do about these annoyingly quiet, private, pleasant people who are clogging up the game with their manners and lack of trolling ‘skillz’?
This guide is here to solve your problems! I have some solutions to this very issue. And, it does require another one of my strange little (awesome) characters. Meet Travis:
He represents the common player, right? He’s a proper Badass. He’s definitely not some kind of internet geek, who trolls every part of the internet, from twitter to reddit. He’s online from a bar, where he can drink all night and still manage to drive home without killing anyone… well, expect for that one Mexican guy.
The best way to engage these quiet players, who only seek to play the game without bothering anyone, is to threaten them. What do you want from them? Cash money! It’s all about the money, isn’t it… and when you think about it, maybe if they are quiet, they don’t have any friends in the game, no one to protect them. So what if you’re only a Boss because you’ve died three times. You could have 100,000 bullets. They don’t know that.
I received a perfect example of a threatening letter just a few days ago. It said: “Give me all of your money, or else…” Terrifying! I didn’t know what to do; maybe Travis was hunting me down as I was reading it. Would all of my money satisfy him? I sent it all to him and never heard again; clearly it got the crazy guy off my back. I think he died not long after, but that was probably unrelated to his threatening messages.
Bootleggers just cannot accept these silent do-gooders, who will not get involved, will not troll, and will not join in with some healthy forum debate about how much something sucks. There is no place for them. Tell them to “Get trolling or GTFO!”
You have to remember that this is a mafia game. It’s not a happy unicorn game, where everyone flies over rainbows and eats candy all day. It’s a fudging chaos filled, explosive, abusive, bullet-flying, newb-crying, ass-kicking… banana-licking… mafia game! The game is about conflict, fighting, arguing, shooting players, gambling, more fighting, more arguing, occasionally sleeping, GTAs, crimes, pissing on people… okay, well… not pissing on people… but it’s not about “just playing the game” you’ve got really get to the heart of the community and be like everyone else on the forum!
Finally, I say that we should rise up against these do-gooders and the only way to do this is to ask BSF for a feature that includes trolling. If trolling helps you to rank up, then everyone will do it! Get a feature where you can simply mash your forehead against the keyboard and get exp. to rank up!
