Buzz Freelance Awards 2012 FlameS

Hello fellow bootleggers,

As the majority of you may be aware, for the last week I have been attempting to compile player opinions of our online community. I intended to achieve this by gathering as many players opinions as possible in order to ensure the results were as unambiguous as they could be. I am delighted to inform you that I had an excellent response as over 80 players took part in the survey.

The survey took the form of votes cast over several categories pre determined by myself, along with two categories suggested by players. Voting was simple and only small restrictions were asked to be adhered to, such as no voting for yourself, no voting for staff other than in their category and only voting for crews that appeared on the statistics page at the time of voting.

The categories in which votes could be cast were;

• Best buster
• Most famous
• Richest player
• Best gambler
• Biggest forum whore
• Friendliest
• Most unfriendly
• Best staff member (inc HDO’s)
• Most powerful crew
• Least powerful crew

Results

Best buster

dweeb

Far and away the winner of this category, picking up 36 votes. Other players gaining high amount of votes included Kauffman, JackHigh and DELT.

dweeb told the Buzz:

"My hard work as a buster is paying off now. I love the prize and I will keep busting so I stay the best buster. I won't let you guys down."

Most famous

BettyB

BettyB managed to attain 17 votes. Other players who scored high amounts of votes included plax and Coastie.

Betty had this to say on receipt of the news she had won;

"I’m speechless, it’s an honor to be chosen as most famous player. Not sure why I would be chosen, but thanks to you all.”

Richest player

London

London managed to receive 11 votes, narrowly pipping both Darkness and MWO to the title.

Best gambler

Tynos and MWO

Both Tynos and MWO gathered 6 votes each. The only other player to get more than two votes was JDM.

Tynos had this to say;

“Well to be honest I'm a little surprised I won this, I know I've been called this many times in the past but I don't gamble half as much as I used to, mainly I guess with the changes in Roulette which was my favourite casino before they changed it *insert mad face*. Thanks everyone that voted for me for voting, maybe they just miss The 1337 Gamblers however I'm far too lazy to do that anymore! But hey I guess in the end gambling is about 80% luck so in the words of Betty I guess I have horseshoes shoved up my ass.”

MWO responded thusly;

“I don't know what to say, i am overwhelmed to know that the players picked me as best gambler, thanks to who ever voted for me, i wont let you guys down.”

Biggest forum whore

Nate

Nate managed to receive a staggering 38 votes. The next most voted player was Pety with only 5.

Friendliest Player

Pillow

This category only showed small amounts of trend, as 42 players received one vote each. Pillow however managed to pick up 7 Votes.

He had this to say;

“I helped some people indeed some did scam me though but I rather get scammed then being an idiot like that ''Nate'' guy lol. I dont know what else I shud comment about winning the award im just very happy I won it and I didnt expect 2 be the one 2 win it.”

Most unfriendly

Nate

Nate managed to attain 18 votes in this category, a clear winner ahead of 556 and DTOX with 6 and 3 respectively.

On receiving news of his results Nate had this to say;

“Well, naturally, I am very thrilled to be perceived as the unfriendliest player on this game. It means all those hours and hours of e-bullying have paid off and I can now sleep easy at night.

However, I do believe there are very few, if any, forum whores around these days so to be seen as the biggest is no mean feat.

That said, however, I can now replace Dtox on his throne that he has treasured for the last two years”

Best staff member

Aldarion

The votes were spread quite averagely between lots of the people capable of winning this category. Aldarion achieved 11 votes, just one ahead of FlyingDeathSquirrel.

Most powerful crew

Event Horizon

EH managed to dominate this category with over 50 votes, very few even coming from it’s own members. Gangsters Sanctuary and Death Valley battled for second place with around 10 votes each.

BettyB gave a statement on receipt of the news;

“It's an even bigger honour though to have people think so highly of EH. We believe that what makes a crew strong is the relationship between the members. EH is truly a family with some amazing members. On behalf of the EH members thank you for your support.”

Least powerful crew

Cosa Nostra

CN managed to receive 13 votes in this category. A few votes were attained by TAO and 23rd Gunslingers.

I appreciate some of the scepticism I received by trying to gather this information. I am fully aware that this is unlikely to demonstrate who actually is the least powerful crew, or the richest player for example. However gaining the truth was never my intention, rather I wanted to try and display the perceptions of our peers as accurately as possible. How we perceive others in our community is an important thing, and it was truly fascinating gathering and eventually publishing my findings, I do hope you find this an interesting read, it was only made possible by the people that voted so a huge thank you to all of you. Lastly a thanks to Poison and the buzz team for maintaining the only avenue of bootleggers media, I hope this article is the first of many.

*All votes were correct at the time of receipt, RIP to the players/crews no longer with us at time of publishing.
