Afty's Occasional Guide To Afty

Organized Crimes are the best way to rank up in Bootleggers. You can do them twice a day (without resetting your timer) and they are normally the biggest indicator as to when you will rank up. But… are they something more than that? They’re a way to make money, right? If I lead then I set the percentages. If I lead then I can give myself a little bit extra on the side. I work hard enough don’t I? I’m working harder than Rupert Murdoch trying to convince the world that he isn’t evil!

People may say “Leaders don’t deserve a big percentage for leading an OC!” but what about ALL the work that leaders have to do to set up the OC?! Don’t they think of that? You’ve got to click the buttons to start an OC; a complicated task for many members of the community. Then, you’ve got to go to Classifieds and make a post asking players to join your OC. So much typing! And finally, you have to invite people, and once they’re ready, click the commit button.

That’s a whole lot of clicking. Isn’t that an RnB song “Whole Lotta Clickin’”? Anyway, that’s at least 40 seconds of work right there… you deserve to be compensated for all of this time and effort. So, what is a fair percentage for the other positions? WE cost is $30,000, so that’s the highest, give them 25%. Second is EQE; forget about EE it’s too expensive! EQE cost is $21,000, so give them 20%. Finally, the driver, he should already have a car, which costs nothing. So the driver’s cost is just $10,000. Give them 15%, that’s a good percentage for them!

So that’s 25%, 20% and 15%, which is a total of 60%. That leaves a big fat, but fair, 40% for the leader! Is it a coincidence that I pointed out that it takes 40 seconds of solid hard graft to setup an OC? There is no such thing as a coincidence; it’s called fate, baby! I mean, so what if you’re spending $25,000, which is almost halfway between the costs of the WE and EQE. Maybe you should be getting around 22/23% by how you calculated the other members percentages. But… if you were to have just 22%, then where would the rest of the percentage go? It might as well go to you… why balance it out between the other schmucks?!

People will not shoot you for being a greedy bastard. Another worthy trick is hoping or waiting for players to get ready before you have set any percentages. That’s like getting drunk and falling asleep on a public bench, you’re just asking for someone to finger you, film it and put it on Youtube. Now, that might be against the law but giving someone 0% if they are already ‘Ready’ is not! If anything, it’s your duty as a player to give them 0% just to teach them the error of their ways. You’re being cruel to be kind. It’s like a fat kid wanting cake, don’t give him cake, give him a mirror and make him stare at himself! It might be mean, but the moral of the story is: DO NOT SHARE YOUR CAKE!

Speaking of greedy bastards, I think it’s time we meet our new characters for this week’s comical scenario:

If you have found yourself agreeing with my opinion in this article, then this quote is for you:
