FlameS Hot Topics FlameS

Welcome to the first edition of “FlameS Hot Topics”. In this weekly column I hope to bring you an unbiased viewpoint from various players on a number of popular subjects from the week preceeding the issue, and/or of game features being regularly debated. I intend to provide the topics up for discussion on the game forum and will relay some of your replies in the issue.

For this first issue I asked you to comment on the following;

- Mission 7
- The Bootleggers economy

I am pleased to say that I did have a response from several player’s, their opinions are listed below along with a short introduction into each subject.

Mission 7

Coming soon, the words spoken by BSF2000 in a recent issue of the Buzz with regards to Mission 7, this however has not seemed to deter people from discussing future missions, and release dates. I asked you the Bootleggers community to this week tell me your views on the delay of mission 7, and what you would like to see in future issues.

Naturally I am a bit upset, 3 months into the round and it still hasn't been taken care of. Clearly, BF2000 is much more concerned with upgrading the casino's above anything

As Far as the delay of mission 7 is concerned, I am a tad frustrated at its late arrival. I understand the programming and formatting of the missions and the effect on the game is extremely time consuming and brain wracking, but it think my frustration goes a bit further back. Honestly, the reset and start of this round was honestly rushed and ill prepared for. I know the problems of round 6 were astronomical, but the release of this round has been FULL of delays, bugs, and updates that never quite happen. We don’t even have a FAQ this round.

The Bootleggers economy

In recent weeks we have seen the price per bullet and per point spike to an all time high for the round, and then slowly decrease. I wanted to gain your views about possible reasons for this and if it has affected you at all.

I strongly believe the CP of points is a ratio between current in game money, and current number of points in the game. Those are the only two factors that are tracked electronically by the game. Notice prices go up as points are used, yet before points are purchased, and the prices drop as more points are purchased. Also, as more points are purchsed, there is a much lower demand for points as more people have them, and therefore dont need to buy them from other players. The price will continually rise from its current minimum as more money enters the game. Players have little to no control over the price shown at CP, but have every bit of control in affecting that price, simply buy buying or using points.

I am very pleased that the prices are dropping. I have always wanted to make some, limit how high you can sell bullets and points that raises slowly through the round.

I never use stock market. it is a useless feature.

This is a very good question, I feel that the Supply of cash, Bullet price's is not an issue, but as for the Point prices, it is really jacked up! I for one would love to know what it is that truly affects the point inflation/deflation, is it as simple as what people are buying/selling them for? or is it on a more elaborate scale, as in the more points that become available affects the price at all.{AKA people spending real money on points}
