Hello folks, and welcome to another edition of FlameS Hot Topics. We had some excellent discussions develop from the last issue, including an on going debate over possible updates for the crew system.
Crews seem to have been discussed a lot recently, especially after the notoriety achieved by underground (UG) crew The Black Horde in recent weeks. This has driven me to ask for your viewpoints on the following topic this week;
Underground Crews vs "Stat Crews": If you were a crew boss which would you prefer your crew to be and why. What do you think are the positives and negatives of each.
I am happy to say that I gathered an excellent response to this question, and I unfortunately cannot post all of your opinions, but some of them are posted below;
I have been in a crew boss in the past. As it stands, a 'stat' crew provides you with no real benefit unless you hold a BF. and then you're a target. It does however have multiple drawbacks, including a healthy crew tax and first and foremost being a target. Underground crews are able to 'hit and run' and it is near impossible to take them out, other than the shooters who expose themselves. Any crew tax goes straight back into the crew for funding and is set by crew boss, if there is any. There are very few crew wars between crews whilst on the stats, this is because everyone knows hitting from an UG crew is much more effective.

Stat Crew as I enjoy the forum and knowing which of my crews online so I can bm them for oc. I enjoy the ability to coordinate effectively and know who my crew are just by clicking on the crew page.
Negatives- the mentioned crew being in the limelight but that can be a postive as you are more likely to be trusted as nowadays people get ready in my oc's without me setting % knowing I'm worthy of being in a crew so more trustworthy?. crews can be killed off/ insided which is a shame as seem by even EH being taken down but tax is fine when everyone pays so no one feels the pain.

Being on the stats can be fun and cool , but your crew will also will be held responsible if some one does anything wrong , you can hold properties and make crew profit with you wont have when your underground
but if your underground you can easy save money and bullets
there is an lesser change you getting killed our your members , but being on the stats is some kind of an prestige , everyone ones it that is an crew person
shooters or other people who play the game different would probably prefer underground.

As I am sure lots of you all ready realise by being a crew on the stats, should your crew be targeted you are a much easier target as the majority of your members are completely visible to would be attackers.
The other main drawback of being in a stat crew that I took away from reading your opinions was the financial aspect, paying crew taxes can be very expensive and hinder some members ability to generate resources.
There are positive aspects of being a member of a stat crew as opposed to an underground crew that I took away from reading your responses. These included but are not limited to the fact that being seen as a member of a stat crew gives the members more respect and trust with the wider community.
The second topic I asked for your opinions on this week was regarding scamming, and scammers. I asked you for your opinion on the following;
Scamming: Have you ever scammed anyone (remaining anonymous is fine), if so how and for what did you scam. How do you feel about scammers, Have you ever been scammed? Do you think Scams should ever result in a ban?
The reponses that I received are below;
Nope and i don't intend to ever scam anyone either as i think its a ridiculously stupid thing to do and will nearly always result in you being shot for probably nothing more than 30k which is pointless, and yes i actually got scammed in an OC earlier this reset by a certain account named JohnGotti (yes i never forget) who had claimed to have been scammed no less than 10 minutes before hand by another player and later posted what goes around comes around (makes no sense as the guy was a moron) but he was right as he got killed the very next day . And Yes thats one thing i believe the Mods should have the power to instant ban players for (if they can prove it ofcourse) as it generally makes some people quit this game for no reason than to have lost 30-100k cash to one player is again pointless and ive seen it happen where around 5-6 new players left at the same time because one of there friends was a victim of being scammed.

Scamming is part of the game but its not worth the reward unless your a hitman or below with nothing to lose otherwise even 2000 points isn't worth my crews reputation, my reputation, rank and spare time trying to scam others when i could just use the in game features e.g. crime, GTA ,OC and selling random stuff to make money
No I don't think it should be banned and sometimes (not always) enjoy a clever scam even if I lose a couple hundred thousand to learn a Valuable lesson.

If you're stupid enough to get scammed, then you deserve it. Realistically speaking, if you're in the mafia, you're hardly going to run to the police/authorities if you get screwed over, you have to deal with it yourself, so no, it shouldn't be banable. I have never done it and nor would I, I like to think of myself as a helpful person.

Scamming has always been part of the game for as long as certainly I can remember. It has always split player opinions and that seems apparent in the viewpoints that I gathered here.Should moderators be involved if players have been scammed? It’s certainly a Hot Topic as far as I am concerned, just last week a player was banned for scamming, all though we are unable to discuss the specific ban, whether or not that was for the best or not it completely up for discussion. Feel free to leave your comments here on the Buzz page.
Thanks again to all of you that took the time to share your opinions with me, whether they were shown in this issue or not. Feedback is always appreciated, and if you have ideas for future Hot Topics just let anyone at the Buzz know.
