2 Car OCs Poison

2 Car OCs have been around for nearly as long as the game has been, but they’re still a feature that is shrouded in mystery and one many players will never use. In this article we try to find out a little more about the reasons why.

They aren’t popular. At all. As of this Tuesday, 21 February 2012, the total number of Organised Crimes committed this round was 4214, and it broke down between 1 and 2 car OCs like this:

Total number of 1 car OCs: 4188
Total number of 2 car OCs: 26*

*5 of those have been led by me to get information for this article!

That means that less than 1% of OCs committed are of the 2 car variety, about 0.6% in fact. Now it’s unlikely this won’t come as a suprise to most of you, it certainly didn’t to me. Simply looking through the Classifieds (or indeed the Game Forum, the way people seem to be posting in any forum they like this round), could have told you as much. Why that is the case, however, is a question we thought we’d ask you. Here were some of the things you told us.

I don't do 2 car OCs; finding the people to fill it, sorting proper payout to people make qual profit seems a lot of hassle for the amount you make and/or the experience you get (as don't believe XP for 2 car is higher.. it may in fact be lower).

Not a fan of 2 cars...less money and XP when divided amongst all members. You can usually get the same payout with a bigger cut and more XP with a 1 car. There is no value in them.

Don't do them, too much of a hassle to get 8 people ready, while you are not sure the payout will be worth it.

Overall, people seemed to dislike them as they took too long to arrange, paid out the same or less than a 1 Car OC once split between eight, and it is believed they gave out worse experience, again perhaps due to XP having to be split between eight. trojanmule made an interesting point though:
There must be some configuration or 2 car set up that would be beneficial otherwise there would be no point (considering extra time, cost etc)

I think he’s got a point, why would the feature even be an option if it didn’t have a benefit to it? Whether it is more XP, or a better payout, we just don’t know. So we did a little research, unfortunately, it’s pretty damn difficult to tell which provides the most XP, without starting with two scum accounts and doing nothing else other than 1 and 2 car OCs respectively and with exactly the same ranks, which is near enough impossible. The Buzz can reveal however, that it was leaked during round 4 by ex-moderator LordPringle that one car Organized Crimes give more experience than two car and quick testing by players confirmed it. The reasoning given was that there was more experience to go around behind just 4 players rather than 8. So, provided that this hasn’t been changed since round 4 (which seems likely), it seems that a 1 Car Organized Crime is better for experience.

However, what we can do with some certainty is work out the average payout for each, to see which offers the best financial incentive.

We found that the average payout for a 2 Car OC is just over $475,000 (average of eight 2 Car OCs) which, presuming the percentages are split with 12% each and 16% for the leader, all the regular members would make $57,000 and $76,000 for the leader.

Compare that to a 1 Car OC, where the average payout is just over $255,000 (average of 30 1 car OCs) which split 25% each, gives a payout per member of just over $63,000.

So we can reveal 2 Car OCs give a worse payout, take more time to organise, and give less experience. Not exactly an exclusive, but hey ho! We do what we can! As this article has turned out to be a bit of a lead balloon, we thought we’d briefly explain the positions in a 2 Car OC so that any of you that choose to do them (although we don’t really know why you would now), are fully clued up, as it seems most aren’t!

Car 1:
  • Leader- Cost is $25,000 the same as a 1 Car OC.
  • Weapons Expert- $30,000 for 1 Thompson.
  • Explosives Expert- Attempts to break into the vault - $36,000 for C4
  • Driver- $10,000 and a car

    Car 2:
  • Equipment expert- As a backup to the Explosives Expert, there is no need for 2 EE’s - $21,000 for Professional Lock Picking Kit
  • Weapons Expert- $30,000 for 1 Thompson
  • Lookout- Keeps an eye out for incoming police - $21,000 for a Motel Room Overlooking the Bank.
  • Driver- $10,000 and a car

You can replace the Weapons Expert and/or the Lookout in Car 2 with a Dirty Police Officer or a Bank Employee at a fee, although this does have an effect upon chance of success, payout and XP.

Good luck with your 2 car Organised Crimes, if you’re crazy enough to do one!
