Game Forum Recruitment; The Way Forward? ShyGuyII

Recruiting on the Game Forum; annoying or diverting? Can’t crews recruit members without bumping a topic, in the Game Forum, every ten minutes? Or are those topics just diverting and needed to recruit new members? SPQR and Evocative are two ‘underground’ crews, which were actively recruiting through the Game Forum before they appeared on the statistics. But who are they and why are they recruiting through the Game Forum? We at The Buzz took our shovels and went on research!

We started with SPQR and that’s not the abbreviation, but the actual crew name. We contacted biggin, the current leader of SPQR, for an explanation of this whimsical crew name. ‘Senatus Populus Que Romanus’ as he stated. So technically, we've got the senate of Rome on the statistics. Don’t you love those old fashioned robes? Anyway, we wanted more information about SPQR. How will this senate looks like in a few years? As you all know, Rome wasn’t build in a day. Biggin replied: ‘We will build our crew into an empire. We plan to pride ourselves on the respectful members. We will work together to become a brotherhood’. Don’t you miss our lovely Caesar already? All interesting, but how to get those respectful members? The answer of SPQR is simple; a recruiting topic in the Game Forum. But does this method work? Before they were on the statistics, they had to attract members to join their crew. But why would a player join an underground crew? We asked biggin, why his crew uses a recruiting topic. He replied: ‘Before we put our topic on the Game Forum, we recruited a small base of friends. After we achieved that, we decided to recruit publicly to bolster our numbers’. Biggin also told us that his crew will continue recruiting on the Game Forum now they are on statistics. However, he wanted to apologize if a player sees their topics as an issue. This means SPQR will continue recruiting through the Game Forum and won’t lock their topic for now. Time to dig up more information at the next crew; Evocative.

Another notable crew name, with no clear meaning. We contacted xNaamloos, the leader of Evocative, for more information. Naamloos is a well known crew boss, who has lead quite a few crews this round; for example Carpe Diem, which he left. But what’s his vision of his current crew and why is he recruiting through the Game Forum? The vision is, as he stated: ‘To become a strong and respected crew’. Well, to achieve that you’ll need members. All crews which were lead by Naamloos, were recruiting on the Game Forum. We asked him why he’s using this recruiting method and not something else. He replied: ‘First we recruited a "council" for the crew and those were all close friends. Than we wanted to promote ourselves as a crew and what better way is there than recruiting on a forum what a lot of people read. I don't really see it as recruiting. I see it more as a way of promoting your crew to the Bootleggers community, because the actual recruitment begins when you received an application form in my eyes’. Not exactly the same opinion as biggin, but there some similarities. Both crews recruited a council first. After that, they started recruiting through the Game Forum. At this moment Evocative has no recruitment topic in the Game Forum. Does this mean they don’t need any promotion at this moment? Time will tell us! We at The Buzz wishes both crews the best of luck this round! In case anything happens with the newly born crews, we’ll let you know in the next Bootleggers Buzz!
