I’ve been racking my poor, over heated brain trying to figure out what to write about this week. It is a tough thing for me to come up with article ideas as I have to feel some passion about my subject in order to write about it. So I questioned myself. What is it in Bootleggers that I feel passionate about? Of course the first answer that comes to my mind is my crew and the people in it. Event Horizon is my passion in Bootleggers, if it wasn’t for the crew, I wouldn’t be here. However, I doubt that you all want to read of my passion for the crew, so what else?
Obviously, from my article last week, the jackasses in the Game Forum get to me. Well, this week one specific topic in the Game Forum caught my eye and not for a good reason. The topic was a basic question, maybe the person was looking for different opinions or just a bit of discussion. What, you wonder, was it about this topic that caught my eye. Well, the answer is that a crew boss posted something completely inappropriate. This gets to me in a few different ways; it leads me to wonder how this jackass treats his Crew Forum and his members when he’s an idiot to strangers in the Game Forum. As well, being a crew boss myself, I feel that the actions of a crew boss more than any member of a crew, will affect how people view a crew. Therefore, in my mind, the actions of the crew boss in question have reflected back to him and his crew in a negative manner. Yes, you guessed it, when I saw this other crew boss posting crap I immediately lost respect for his crew.
My first reaction upon seeing this topic was to send a couple BMs off to others people to see if maybe I was over reacting, others agreed with me. My second reaction was to go to this crew’s recruiting topic where I wanted so very badly to post for potential members of this crew to see how the boss acted, and to let the boss of this crew know that he’s lost a lot of respect for himself and his crew. However anyone posting what he did likely doesn’t give a rat’s ass if he and his crew are not respected. So, with a bit of effort, I kept myself out of the forums. I then considered shooting this crew, if for no other reason than to rid Bootleggers of a crew which is being run by a game forum bully/jackass. Even went so far as to make a topic about shooting them in my own crew forum. However, my crew is not known for shooting unless it’s to defend ourselves, plus why I would want to waste our resources on some loser that doesn’t deserve respect. So, I settled on venting a bit in BM and in my crew forum. Finally, I figured out what to do, share with you all in a bit of a rant, and I now feel better for getting this out of my system.
If you are looking to join a crew, be aware of the actions of the members, especially of the boss. Make sure you are going into a crew that you will fit well into and who holds the same values as you.
