Welcome to my first official column as a Buzz Writer. Some of you may have seen the piece I wrote a fortnight ago as a freelance article about the crew system, the opinions of those who use it and their suggestions for improvements. This will be of a similar nature but this time in relation to the Bootleggers Casinos. We will pass through several main areas, those of Casino basics, busting Casinos, Blackjack problems, Biggest wins and finally some suggestions to further the Casino system.
Casinos play an enormous role in Bootleggers providing us, as players, with some of the biggest profits and biggest loses achievable in the whole game. Indeed, it is hard not to see a topic on the forum about the latest change to a casinos max bet or it's availability for purchase. I'll be looking at some of the tips and tricks, the highs and lows; and those pitfalls to watch out for with a helping hand from some of those who we all know best from their common occurrence on the 'States' page.
First things first, what would the average player expect to pay for each casino. I have asked a few players what they thought and the averages are below:
Blackjack: Given away – 15 points (Although currently none of them are for sale).
Keno: 90 – 100 points
Race Track: 100 – 150 points
Roulette: 90 – 100 points
Slot Machines: 400 – 600 points
Many of those who I asked also expressed that the location of the Casino affected the price dramatically. Perfectionist told me:
For me it depends on the state popularity. I won't give more than 450pts for Louisiana or New Jersey Slotmachines, while I will pay 550-600pts for Illinois or New York slots, this is the same with every casino.

The other casino games cannot be bought or sold. The lottery costs $250 per ticket and there are draws on Wednesday and Saturday. Poker prices are set by those who wish to play and as for casino War, the max bet is $20,000 and cannot be bought.
“But what if I want to win a casino rather than buy it?”
A good question which brings us onto our next point of interest, busting Casinos. I asked a few of Bootleggers frequent Casino owners what they thought. The resounding response was that the only method that helps, other than sheer luck, is to find the wealth status of the holder and the max bet on their Casino.
I do have a plan mostly. The most important things to know when you want to bust a casino are:
- what is the maxbet
- how much cash does the owner have

The next item to consider is, how easy or hard is it to actually bust a Casino. This was possibly the question I had the most variety in the responses that I received from players.
MrL aka MrLawrence told me:
Keno is far too easy, you know a Keno will go sooner or later.

This contrasts what I was informed by Oddball (and I have found in my own personal experience)
Too hard.. I'm a common case of holding them and lose them, gamble on them and lose my money..

Once again, we are left with the question of whether or not some players are able to do it easier than others. Perfectionist quite aptly told me:
I think it's not too easy and not too hard, just perfect.. The more money you have, the easier it is to bust a casino.

Indeed, Regular owner and gambler MackDaddy12 reported:
I find its a bit of both sometimes. Mostly its too hard though unless your playing bj, rt or rlt.

Multiple players have commented on how easy a Blackjack is to bust when it has a high max bet. Many felt that Blackjack was not worth having and some players merely gave them away as it wasn't worth the bother to sell them! The past tense of gave might have provided you a clue to my next point. No one has held a Blackjack table for a while apart from MrLawrence and a few other trusted members of Gangsters Sanctuary (excluding the period recently involving the killings of some of the GS members). When I asked why they held them all he kindly provided this response:
At the moment we as a crew have invested in the Blackjacks. Not because they are the best but to show BSF that when he tells the game he is going to do an update some of us get behind him and prepare for the updates, which whilst slow, are usually pretty damn good when they arrive. It was also to put a bit of pressure on him to encourage him to get on with it.

Obviously people have noticed that this is the case and Mafiozy commented:
BJ's are to easy to bust when their maxes are high, thats why their prices dropped close to zero.

The suggestion is that, post update, Blackjack will be similar to Roulette in regards to the way you play. As with Roulette, you will probably be required to buy chips. This will hopefully not only increase the desirability of Blackjack but also increase the amount that Roulette is played as often, people do not play it as they find the task of buying chips arduous. The rumour is, and I can only speculate, all the Casinos will eventually require chips to play.
Many other players felt that this chip conversion was positive.
it would be nice if your money in hand was apart from the money you put for casino like roulette

With Casinos being such a big part of the game, what has been your biggest win and on which type of Casino? Once again, I put the question to our selection of Casino Crazed Colleagues.
The most i ever won was 18,000,000 on RaceTrack! Congratz Pink Won! lol
The most I ever made owning a table was a slot machine. Somewhere around 28 million.

For me it is Slotmachines and RT, a few days ago i made 139,6m profit by holding a Unlimited Slotmachines, but this is a once in a (BL)life-time i guess The most profitable casino for me to gamble on is an Unlimited RaceTrack held by someone with 10m cash on hand or so..

You can see from this why some people only ever hold Casinos and pay little attention to such trivial amounts of money harvested by Crimes or Organised crimes in comparison. It's not all profit though, there have been huge losses. A quick glance at the statistics page will show you the lost people have suffered. Maybe those Organised Crimes aren't looking so bad anymore!
With all of this cash that people are making (and losing) are there any changes that the players or owners would like to see? I myself welcome the move towards chips. Whilst it may make it harder to bust other peoples casinos it's more realistic and, although there is a percentage cash out fee, the overall success of your gambling will hopefully subsidise this. Our esteemed panel of Casino holders and players had the following suggestions:
Fix the Blackjack tables (as we know this is an upcoming update!)
Possible overall profit counter on the home page(Showing your overall win or loss in gambling)
Possibly more casino games as it is such a big part of the game.
A crew bank used for holding a table. (Could require a tax if held by the crew).
A Casino Successor (In the event the owner is shot).
Apart from these suggestions the general feeling of all the players was that the Casino System was a real asset to the game and that (excluding Blackjack) was pretty good how it was. If the rumours are correct about the eventual change over to chips for all Casinos then it would be safe to assume that all of the games will get a revamp.
It is not yet clear what the Blackjack update will hold but hopefully BSF2000 will hit 777 and brings us another excellent update. All I know is that everything will be revealed soon and the details will slot into place.
