The Solution Is... ShyGuyII

In the previous Buzz Edition we all witnessed the article of FlameS regarding the current status of Bootleggers. His article caused several discussions in the Game Forum. People were complaining about the way BSF2000 is running his game. Complaining is easy, giving solutions is, as it seems, harder. The Buzz approached two players with both different opinions; FlameS and Dtox. We wanted to hear their opinion about the current status of Bootleggers and, of course, their solutions to make Bootleggers more active. Let’s start with the Pikachu!

FlameS already gave his opinion in his previous article so I think a short summary will do for now. FlameS thinks the game is, at this moment, at her best. That’s a remarkable opinion, since several features are not working, yet. However, FlameS isn’t satisfied with the way Bootleggers is getting managed. He even stated: ‘I think the way the game is managed, and the confidence of the management from the players, is at an all-time low’. So FlameS is noting a problem, but we want to hear solutions! FlameS has two solutions for BSF2000. His first idea is to let BSF2000 interact more with the community. As everyone knows, BSF2000 is already doing this with writing a monthly Buzz article. FlameS thinks this isn’t enough yet. He stated: ‘Starting his monthly article is a good first step, but this needs to be increased 10 fold’. A good first step, that’s where it all begins right?! FlameS also had a second solution; employing another administrator. According to FlameS, this new administrator should fix minor problems such as the FAQ, the State Don feature and so on. We at The Buzz were also interested in the role of the Moderators. Are they doing a good job or do they have to clean the toilets in the future? FlameS replied: ‘The Moderators here do an exceptional job. Many people will be sceptical and say I am sucking up because of my position within the Buzz and as an HDO. But I can assure you I speak my mind’. That answer makes us wonder who has to clean the toilets. That question brings us to the one and only Dtox!

So what’s the opinion of the well-known Dtox? Some players call him the biggest forum whore of 2012, others call him the role model player. We asked him the same questions as we asked FlameS, starting with his opinion about the current status of Bootleggers. Dtox replied: ‘The current state of Bootleggers is disappointing. Updates and features are added that nobody asked for. One of these features doesn't even work. People should keep in mind that these features somehow took priority over things like the current crew system, which has been useless for rounds now’. Feel free to call him rude in the forums, but he clearly has a point. Now we only need a solution! He gave us the following wise words: ‘If BSF2000 gets over his delusions of grandeur and the Moderators stop being in this for themselves, I think most of the major issues would be resolved in a matter of a month’. A bunch of pills and it’s done, easy peasy! We asked Dtox how he looks at the solution of FlameS; employing a new administrator. Dtox didn’t agree with that solution, as he stated: ‘I am not going to say he should hire more administrators because if he never talks to them like he never talks to his current staff, that's not going to help’. That’s all reasonable, but we didn’t hear anything about Moderators yet. What should be the job of the Moderators in Dtox view? Again, his opinion clearly didn’t match with the opinion of FlameS. Dtox replied: ‘Their task is to moderate the game. Ban cheaters, moderate the forum and be approachable. They shouldn't be hosting games in my opinion. Nor play the game. i.e. OC, hold money, points or properties’. Dtox didn´t mention anything about the toilets, a pity.

That leaves us with one opinion; my opinion. My opinion is rather simple. Sometimes we seem to forget why we are all playing this game. I´m playing Bootleggers for fun, not because I have to. At this moment there's not a lot inflation and there are still godfather+ accounts alive (those weren't alive at the end of the previous round). The only thing that has to be done is fixing the current errors; such like the FAQ and the State Don feature. Whenever that’s solved, we can start adding new features, such as a new crew system and a new Blackjack system. I don’t think that Bootleggers needs a new administrator nor change the role of Moderators. Nobody has an idea what’s behind the scenes, neither do I. But if you don’t know what’s going on, you don’t have the right to blackguard it. As I stated before, complaining is easy, giving solutions is, as it seems, harder.
