Hello all you Bootleggers! That’s right; my column is now in freelance. And I’m here to tell you my side of the story as to why I’m now in the freelance section.
In Buzz issue number 20 the editor at the time, Poison introduced me as a Guest Columnist. He had approached me and asked me if I would join the Buzz. I was unsure if this was something I wanted to do, and told Poison so. He said I would not have to contribute every week but he would like to see every 2 weeks, he also stated that I could be bias as his hope was to create a bit of stir in the community with the Buzz.
As you know, if you read last week’s Buzz, Poison has stepped down from being Editor with FlameS and ShyGuyII taking over. Shortly after the publishing of last week’s Buzz with the announcements, the new Editors made a topic in the buzz forum. In this topic 2 of the conditions that Poison had offered me and I had agreed upon were removed. Everyone was now expected to contribute at least one article a week and the Buzz would be an un-bias paper (we’ll see how that turns out). I posted on that topic the conditions I had agreed upon with Poison and that if the new Editors couldn’t honour that agreement it would be best for me to leave. Then I waited. And waited, and waited. With no response coming, I then sent a bootmail to FlameS explaining the same thing I had posted and asked him to talk it over with ShyGuyII. Then I proceeded to wait some more.
I saw FlameS online and after waiting a while, I sent him another BM to thank him for ignoring me and find out the status of whether or not my terms with Poison would be honoured. FlameS stated that those terms would not be honoured and removed me from the Buzz. Fine by me, it wasn’t a position I had volunteered for anyway. So I sent out a couple bootmails thanking Poison for the opportunity and Mika for his support during my short time at the Buzz. They were surprised as apparently no one said anything in the Buzz forum stating that I was gone. Ah well, no matter, it was over.
Much to my surprise, the next day I was contacted by FlameS asking him if I would sell him some of the bullets in EH before he joined The Hunger Games. My first thought was that he has a lot of nerve. He had been asked in the past to help out EH and refused. Then booted me from the Buzz without so much as a blink and wanted a favour from me? Seemed a bit selfish to me and obviously I declined to sell him bullets. Seems to me that if you are going to be asking people for favours, you should treat them a bit better.
