The Godfather Resemblances In Bootleggers Prince4

The Godfather, don't tell me you never heard of it! Mario Puzo, the author of the bestselling novel 'The Godfather', has created a Mafia underworld of crime, corruption, passion and loyalty into our world consciousness. I think I read the novel over fifty times now. The Godfather and Bootleggers, I tell you, it doesn't differs a lot. I present you my first article as a Buzz Writer; The Godfather Resemblances In Bootleggers!

Every player on Bootleggers is entitled to 'make his bones' through participating in some actions such as crimes, stealing cars, wacking, etc. We are all starting as a Scum and we're trying to build our way up. Vito Corleone, the one and only Godfather, started his Gangster way by stealing a mug with his friend, Clemenza. Later things escalated to bootleg booze during the prohibition era. Things really changed when he killed Don Fanucci, the Don who was running the area which Vito Corleone lived in. After that moment, nobody would call him Vito Corleone. He became Don Corleone.

Don Corleone started his own Mafia Family, also known as a crew, with one consigliere, capo regimes and soldiers. They always used informers to know their enemies whereabouts, used Garrote or Thompsons to finish the job and of course always took care of the Witnesses. Don Corleone always refused drug dealing and prostitution. He invested almost everything he had in gambling and hospitality (especially after the end of the prohibition era). Each share were ran by a 'points system' to refer to a bulk of stocks. So, back in his days, an owner of five points share of, for example a hotel, was remarkably rich! Although, at this moment we can't invest in Hotels. You can only invest in shares which are located at the Stock Market. Big investments in Hotels or just a pity in a big multinational? Hotels, worth an update? Don Corleone would agree with me, no doubt.

Quite a few things are mentioned in the novel, which are also mentioned on Bootleggers. For example the ranks; Scum, Assassin, Boss, Godfather and Don. Those ranks are all described in the novel. There are also crime concepts mentioned in the novel. Think about Crimes, Auto Burglary, Kill, Bootlegging and special jobs (Missions). And finally, think about the financial icons like; Bank, Casino and points.

But the big question arises: What is missing in Bootleggers that was mentioned in the novel? Well, there is a lot! Let’s start with the real powers of a Don, him being nearly an impossible target! The Family Structure (Crews); The Family should be a very strong structure! Not visible and definitely not reachable to everyone! And surely not killable in the same hour! Did Bootleggers forgot about Sicily? It's also known as the hideout country. ]When a significant Mafia member was under lots of heat, he ran away to the old country. which reminds me of an old feature, Safehouses.

As a conclusion we can say that Bootleggers took a big part from the novel and represented it in a modern and more detailed structure as it concentrates on the criminal part of the novel. The novel has been written and can't be changed. What about Bootleggers?!
