So, you’re thinking of going on vacation? Have you ever felt burned out with Bootleggers? Have you ever felt like you just needed a bit of a break from being active in the Game Forum or the Crew Forum? Well, that’s how I felt over a month ago. I was trying to stay active with my crew, trying to keep writing for The Buzz, as well as working on several different projects outside of Bootleggers. I came to a point where I just needed a break. I messaged three people and then went on vacation for 30 days. But… maybe you haven’t felt burned out or felt like you needed a break, in which case I applaud your stamina!
A 30 day vacation is a long time in Bootleggers terms. This occasional guide is to prepare you for what to expect upon returning to the game after such a time period away. Firstly, be prepared not to recognise anyone… and I mean anyone. 30 days is apparently enough time for someone to die multiple times. Get ready for plenty of messages saying “Hey! Welcome back!” and you replying with “Thanks. Who are you?”
This doesn’t just apply to player accounts either. Crews will rise and fall in 30 days. I can count seven crews that were not on the stats when I went on vacation. If a big crew has fallen in that time then be prepared for several version of the same story to be recounted to you from various players.
So, A shot B, C shot B, D shot C and then E shot D. BUT! E only shot D because they were paid by A and C shot B because they were aligned with A. D doesn’t have any kind of alignment with A though. And we have no idea why B shot A to begin with.

Another major thing to be prepared for is a whole host of game changes and new features. What the hell is this new feature?! Oh wait… scratch that.
It’s worth remembering though that some things will never change.
