On Saturday 25th August at 11:00 am, a special Birthday celebration was held by Event Horizon. They have enjoyed seven successful years of having a presence on both the Stats page and in the game itself. We at The Buzz would like to wish them a very Happy Birthday and wish them another seven years of success!
So, onto the details of their celebration: WhatTheFuckle was running a busting competition for anyone who wanted to enter, as well as another competition within the crew. He was in and out of that jail so many times we don’t think he even had time to pick up the soap, let alone drop it. The competition was actually discussed for a while within the crew and, as many of you will know, in the past Event Horizon have done multiple busting competitions. They felt it was time to do another and WhatTheFuckle took the initiative, with help from his fellow crew members, and started up the topic in their crew forum. To his surprise the donations flooded in; everyone wanted to donate and demonstrate Event Horizon’s generosity and their joy at seven years of being a very successful crew.
We took the time to ask BettyB (the crew boss and founder of Event Horizon) to share a few closing thoughts. She said: “I was fairly happy with the turn out and Fuckle did an amazing job of organizing and hosting the bust competition. I wish we could do more, maybe we will yet, just short on ideas.” The forums will definitely be worth watching in the Future for more of these lovely Bust Competitions. She went on to say: “We really do want to celebrate more, and want to share it with everyone we can, we just have to think of ways to do it.” She also had some ideas for other games they could have run and still might, including “maybe a puzzle, in the buzz, with a prize” however due to the fact “(they) were shot and just recently back on stats though, (they) were not properly prepared to share our celebration with all of the game.“ BettyB went on to answer a few more questions about Event Horizon as a whole. We wanted to hear her opinion on her seven years within Event Horizon and a few details about them. So we asked her if she could tell us about her best moment as the Boss of Event Horizon. She replied with: “I don't know about the best moment, I think one of the most fun though was when Revelation & EH were at war, we heard they were planning to shoot us a certain day/time so we put Revelation on search also, and the 2 crews shot each other simultaneously. Now some ex Revelation members are really good friends.”
We also tracked down Gluseppe, better known as JDW who has been with their crew for seven years, ever since he first joined in 2004, and asked him the same question. His response was: “It would be hard for me to pick out a single memory, although I would pick out my time as Event Horizon’s Underboss (when I was most active). That was also around the time of our famous battles with Revelation! Good times.”
Going back to Betty we dug a little bit deeper to find out if she missed any one person more then another. She quite simply replied: “I am not sure I can say that there is one former member missed over another, every member was valuable to the crew in their own special way.“ However Gluseppe did have a favourite person who had left: “Again, a hard one to answer, many have come and gone over the years. To answer your question, I will have to say someone who left along time ago, probably 4+ years since we last had contact, a crazy Brazilian called 'Mad'. He was a highly respected and trusted member you could always have a laugh with.” It sounds like a real shame that Mad left. However, as this game has proved time and time again, no one ever leaves for good, so maybe one day Mad will return to his friends in Event Horizon.
The final question we had for Betty was to find out if there were any plans for the Future of the crew as a whole. Her response:“The future of EH is in the hands of the members and fate. Who can know what it holds for us, I guess we'll find out in time.” We can definitely say that after seven years they won't be going anywhere soon and they are proven to be a Crew to be reckoned with as Revelation will remind us!
Turning back to Gluseppe we asked him if he had anything he wished hadn't happened during his history with Event Horizon, both by the Crew or any of the individual members and he went on to tell us that he had “No regrets at all.” over any of the actions of Event Horizon over the years and that as a crew he was particularly proud of one moment in their history: “One time, many years ago we were insided, taken from stats and within minutes, literally, we were back on stats.“ which is quite an achievement as many of you will know! Gluseppe's final thoughts were to share his funniest memory from his time with Event Horizon and his answer was surprisingly recent: “just last night we found out Mason is actually a transvestite clown, he was caught breastfeeding a man baby.” Defiantly a story to watch out for on the news outside of the game! I'll bet that will end up on a comedy show somewhere in the world!
From all of us here at the Buzz we wanted to wish all the winners of the competition a big congratulations. boboboi won first bust and third in total, Payne won seventh bust, Buzz won twenty fifth bust, SniperWolf won second to last bust, OldDirtyBastard won lowest ranked buster, mastergenie6 took second place and our very own Afty took first prize! The winner of the dice game was Younv3 and the in crew dice game was xKeisha whilst the in crew winner wished to remain anonymous. So congratulations to all of those luck winners. So all that’s left to say is a very happy birthday to Event Horizon from everyone here at The Buzz!
