So we left off with Aldarion bleeding to death in a darkened basement, Gangster number 2 on the run, knowing that Sky had seen his face and Gangster number 1 was shot in the face by Mika. Where oh where did this crazy night go? What on earth happened to Gangster number 2 and Aldarion? It's time to find out!
In a darkened basement, moments after he had been left, Aldarion was tied up, missing a finger, some teeth and various other body parts, he was black and blue and could feel himself dying, but he had a hood over his face and he was tied to a chair. The morphine was finally wearing off and Aldarion knew he could only have moments left before he saw the light. He was already starting to feel light headed and tired. But why wasn't he dead yet... He could feel his blood flowing away, but he realized it wasn't gushing! The idiots hadn't severed an artery, just a vein! Desperately he cried out for help!
A woman opens her eyes slowly. It is four in the morning and she has slept soundly. However she has a slight headache. That would be normal if she had been drinking, but she realizes she hadn't touched a drop all day yesterday... She can't quite remember how she got to bed. She suddenly realises that she must have been drugged! But if that is the case why hasn't she been harmed... And what has woken her up so early... Then she hears it. A faint cry of “help” coming from somewhere downstairs. She realizes it could easily be downstairs or in her basement. She rushes out of bed, slightly dizzy, and quickly searches her house. She can find evidence that someone has been there, her late husbands tools are spread out and she discovers a hammer has some curious stains on it, as does a saw... And some are missing. The pliers, tweezers, scissors and even her camera aren't visible. The cry of “Help” sounds again and this time she races outside and into her basement. The sight before her eyes almost makes her pass out, instead she pukes.
Light shines again on Aldarion's face, but he still can't see. He flinches, hoping desperately that they haven’t come back to finish him off. “Please... I can't give you any money... I've told you that... Just please get me to a doctor...” He passes out, too weak to stay conscious any longer. His fate is no longer in his hands.
The woman looks at the chaotic scene before her. A man is tied up, bleeding heavily and her missing tools are displayed around. There is blood everywhere and footprints all over the place. The man just spoke and she knows she can still save him, but she might disturb any evidence there is. She runs back into her house and attempts to call the police, but her phone lines have been cut! Very carefully she tries to walk around most of the blooded footprints to preserve as much evidence as she can, before finally reaching Aldarion's side. She grabs the bandage that was ripped off lose and applies it very tightly to his wound. She rips off part of her blooded nightgown and ties it securely around the bandage.
She changes and grabs her car, parking it near the basement. She very carefully unties the bonds and removes the face hood, before laying Aldarion carefully in the back seat. She drives like a madman across Erie, before a dozing cop watches her Comet fly past. He quickly gives chase. Knowing that any more delays could potentially finish off Aldaraion, she pulls over and shares a quick glance into the back-seat. There is blood everywhere. He was still breathing but bleeding from dozens of little wounds. He didn't have long left.
The policeman finds a terrible scene before him. The woman driver is covered in blood, but nothing in comparison to the dying man in her back seat. He pulls out his handcuffs and cuffs her to her steering wheel. She tries to protest but he ignores her pleas of innocence. He quickly pulls out Aldarion and lays him in the back-seat of his police car. He tells the woman he will be back shortly and speeds on, his siren blazing, racing to the hospital.
Arriving at the hospital a porter helps him bring Aldarion inside where doctors race out to try to save his life. Telling the doctor's he will be back shortly he speeds back to the Comet. Finding the woman still there, asleep at the wheel, he wakes her up and hears the full story. He lets her go and follows her home where he sees the devastation at her home. He arrests her again and takes her into the station, calling a detective to come and assess the scene.
The detective arrives and makes rudimentary boot prints by placing sheets of paper over the blooded prints. He then has a set of the boots and drives back to the station. He says that with the evidence they have, the woman is free to go and she spends her afternoon cleaning up. After a week she sells her home and moves away, wanting to forget all about that awful night!
The policeman speeds back to the hospital having put the detective on the right course and arrives to find out that they have managed to save Aldarion, but that without the missing body parts he will remain almost crippled for life. Searching for ID the police officer finds out he is Aldarion and a part of the Elite Guard. He speeds over to Sky's office saying “I have found Aldarion, he is in the hospital safe but they need any body parts which were amputated and given to your office in order to restore him back to his original form. We also have some evidence about the men behind the attack if youre interested in pursuing this?” Sky's response was simple: “When you find Aldarion's limbs you should slap yourself with them. Now get out of my office.”
Meanwhile, the second Gangster has managed to leave Eerie. He hopped on a postal carriage which left at 5.a.m. bound for Colorado. Upon his arrival, he leaps out and hails a cab, hiking over to a friends place. His plan is to lay low for a while. He knows the Elite guard will be looking for him. No one escapes from the EG and even a few days would be miraculous.
Opening his door, Kelvin spots sight of an old friend of his. The last he had heard of this would be Gangster was that he had some minor operation going in Penny fencing stolen Duesenbergs. His friend is looking very worried and Kelvin notices blood on the bottom of his clothes. Hesitating for a moment at the site of the blood, Kelvin invites in the Gangster. He invites the Gangster to sit down at the table and pours him a stiff Cognac. He makes a quick excuse and heads to the bathroom. Inside he removes his .38 special floating in a sandwich bag in the cistern, checks it carefully for water damage and wraps the hand towel around the barrel. Making his way back into the living room he leaves the gun on the side, in the kitchen easily accessible, just in case.
The Gangster is already onto his third drink and hasn't noticed his words are slurring. Very drunkenly, he tells Kelvin everything, that the EG are looking for him and even how much damage they dealt to poor Aldarion. He doesn't know where to turn. “Is there anything you can do to *hic* help bro? Even a place to *hic* stay would be something...*hic* Just for a few days... I've gotta leave town to get to another deal *hic* over in Louisiana...”
Surprised at his friend's overwhelming stupidity, yet also intrigued, Kelvin tentatively asks “So whats the scoop on your deal in Louisiana?” unaware that simply asking about it could involve him in some very shady business later on.
The Gangster replies: “I've been *hic* buying up Duesenbergs from Penny for weeks. I've got 100 *hic* currently shipping now and they arrive in just over 4 hours. They will each sell for $50,000 giving me *hic* $5,000,000. But there is a catch... The dock *hic* master needed 1 million up front to let the shipment in! I've *hic* raised 500k now. I've paid off everyone else so now if I can find *hic* another 500k I can make a massive profit. Its a done deal.” The Gangster has started swaying during this conversation. He doesn't look like he will last much longer before passing out.
Kelvin comes up with a suggestion in the last moments before the Gangster passes out. “A few days ago I witnessed Mika shooting someone. We could use that knowledge to blackmail him to secure your safety since we aren't really a threat to the Elite Guard with your companion dead, but the surviving members of the Palazzo Di Padrino would be very interested to hear who it was that had taken out one of their members. Unless you can think of another way to convince the EG to leave you alone?”
The Gangster, a bit confused by what is going on, passes out from a combination of too much alcohol, shock and sheer exhaustion.
So what is going to happen next? Will Sky track down the Gangster? Will Mika calm things down in order to hide from Padrino's Palace? Will Kelvin back-stab the Gangster and take the 4 million dollar deal? Find out next time!
