Afty's 9th Anniversary Thoughts LazyAfty

So, Bootleggers celebrates its 9th Anniversary this week. It’s pretty amazing for a browser based game to last so long. The amount of browser games that have been created and “launched” and have disappeared. In an age where nearly every online game is played through Facebook, it’s a great achievement for Bootleggers to still be running with a fairly good player base.

I’m not here to talk about the state of the game though. I’ve been requested to write an article about my favourite moment of this round, and of any round playing Bootleggers. I have two best moments from this round. The first one is boring; just ranking to Legendary Don. The second though was when TiT aka RedMoon joined one of the first Russian Roulette games of the round. It was so not worth joining. He joined and then tried to leave. It was very funny. Might as well give TiT a shout out because he stopped asking me for OC cash; don’t be a dingbat!

My favourite all time moment is quite hard to think of. Before this round, the last time I played Bootleggers was 2007. I remember joining EH back then. I made it to Legendary Don then too. I (EH) got shot because someone in the crew started asking a State Don some silly questions. The State Don got suspicious and thought he was going to be shot, so he wiped us. Ironically, EH weren’t planning on shooting him, but after he shot us, he died a few hours later. So yeah, that might not be my best all time moment, but it’s the one that sticks in my memory, and now it’s out of my head and into yours.

Back onto the general subject of Bootleggers, a lot of players might be unhappy with BSF2000 and his lack of a voice and updates but you cannot deny that it is a brilliant achievement for him to have been running the game for so long. I think the only reason he hasn’t gone mental is because of his distant nature. If he was active every day, reading the trash and trolling that is 90% of the forum, or answering BMs that he doesn’t receive anymore… he’d definitely be in a padded room yelling “UPDATES ARE COMING SOON! SOON FFS!”
