On September 27th 2003 a wise man in The United States started a browser based game called Bootleggers. It was a great success, more than 5,000 users were online at some point. Now, nine years later, there are way less players. Can we still call it a success?
My personal opinion; yes, we can still call it a very big success. Of course, the activity is not what it used to be, but Bootleggers is still here. If you compare Bootleggers with nine years ago, a lot things changed. There’s no more Bootleggers Bootcast, no more Establishment and there only ten crews left. Also, more features got added, like Gymnasium, Swiss bank and the new missions. Not to mention the new lay out, which looks way better than the old school blue lay out. Another thing which changed is the amount of players. Unfortunately a lot players left during the years. Some people left because they got banned, some people left because they lost at Roulette and some people left because of BSF2000. Our Administrator is promising a lot things, but he doesn’t keep his promises. But let’s be honest, aren’t we all complaining after a new feature gets introduced?
This week it’s a party, a birthday party to be more exact. I asked The Buzz Team to write a short article about their best moments on Bootleggers. Why?! Because I’m pretty done with all the complaining about BSF2000. Instead of moaning, look at the bright side of life and share your good moments. I mean, we all know there are less players than a few years ago. Nevertheless, we all had good moments on the game. What is your ‘best’ moment this round and your best moment on Bootleggers? I’ve been part of many crews these years and I met some fantastic people!
Nine years of Bootleggers and I hope we will reach plenty of more years. I do expect some bloody cake when we reach that though. I’m looking forward to the new updates and I hope BSF2000 finds a solution for the problems he currently has. And really, being so negative doesn’t motivate him. Would you ‘waste’ days of coding for a comment like ‘wow, what a stupid update’? I wouldn’t, so give that old Britney Spears Fan a break!
