Recently there have been a series of updates. We hear some of you saying its about time and others saying what about the other features? We at the Buzz are more interested in looking deeper into the effects of, what we view as, the most important update which has been released. Crews being able to provide applicants with bullets. Now many of you may be wondering how this will benefit you, or indeed, anyone. But in order to gain a wider understanding of the true benefits of this update we have approached several crew bosses in order to gain their views.
The first boss we spoke to was Settler, current crew boss of Coscas Origins. He explained his viewpoints on the new update, “This new update opens up for a new direction of game play. First of all with the on going war between all the people whom are UG, the new update has made it possible for UG shooters to be supplied bullets by crews on the stats. This would of course mean that the BF holding crews would have to be extra careful and watch their steps closely. Everyone has ears everywhere and misunderstandings, which often seem to appear on this game due to info coming from different and often not reliable sources, may be lethal in some cases. Secondly it's a very nice opportunity for the crews that intend to build up a strong infrastructure. The new update allows the bosses to supply their shooters with bullets more often without reviling their shooters identity.” So that is the basic view. It helps UG crews but crews with BF's still need to watch themselves. Not much has changed here other then a bit of help for UG crews.
Next we turned to Ovid the crew boss of Vatos Locos. He gave us a bit of a more negative viewpoint, “Didn't find the update very spectacular.. It removes only 2 mouse clicks of action. Was hoping for some functions like being able to equip members with crew bank money, or maybe make shooters in a crew able to team up when they shoot in the same state. In my eyes BL needs some eye opener, updates are always good though!” He went on to suggest some other changes which could be made to crews, “1. Let crew members be able to buy bullets and give them to the crew (also escrow). 2. Let the crew be able to equip crew money to it's members. 3. Introduce back fire and think about teamed up shootings. 4. Give the crew spots a limited amount of special protections to equip a few members.” Some nice suggestions! Lets hope we see something similar in the Future!
Next we turned to our own iAldo, crew boss of Aztexe. He told us “I think it will benefit nearly every crew who has shooters. Rather than letting my shooters into the crew now, and risk them getting seen constantly entering in and out of the crew, they can just apply and sit there while we feed them with bullets our bullet factories have produced.” We then asked if it would be a benefit to himself and his crew to which he replied “I don't think it benefits me personally but it certainly benefits the protection of the crew spot. I don't think crews are a bad idea, if used right I think you can prosper because of a crew spot!”
Next we turned to one of the newer crew bosses, Ghyslayne who is crew boss of The Priory. He told us a few things about this update. “I don't think it's a good idea, because it's alot easier for ug acounts to get bullets without beeing seen in a crew. I think there will be more killings.” We probed a bit futher and asked him if TP would use this new feature and he told us quite simply “No I don't think we will use it.” So we are receiving a broad view. Some crews think it is useful, others don't.
Our next step was Magnesium the crew boss of Padrinos Palace. He gave us a very detailed view “Well it was obviously done for one main purpose in my mind. To allow crew bosses to provide bullets from factories to underground shooters without them even needing to join the crew. Indeed, as you can't see if anyone has applied to a crew then you would have no idea who might be underground shooters and who might not. It provides a rare advantage to being in a crew in my eyes that (if you had a lot of bullets) you would be able to provide them to a shooter with no chance of them being traced by joining the crew and leaving again.” Well that is the update in a nut shell! But is that all there is to it?
Next we tracked down BettyB the crew boss of Event Horizon. She gave us a very interesting view point, one which had already crossed our minds at the Buzz. “This is a help to crews, so it is a start. Now anyone running a bot with a script to watch who's going in/out of crews won't catch a crews UG shooters as they go into the crew for bullets. Crew can now safely take in a full 25% of the bullets and aid the UG shooters in stocking. Plus what I said before... It is not enough to fix crews.. it is only a small help.” The urben legend of the Bot's. Do they exist? Who knows! But this update will definitely hinder them.
Next we tracked down MrLawrence the crew boss of Gangsters Sanctuary. As always he gave his own unique viewpoint on the game. He told us “its a great update and the first time crews have been given an advantage. I applaud this as a chance to fight back against the threat of underground crews.” He went into more detail saying “this is more than simply an update, this is a clear indication that BSF sees as a priority the imbalance between stats and UG crews. Clearly he has limited development time so for him to put this ahead of well known other needs this is a positive step towards rebalancing. We call on BSF to now go further and allow any crew member being shot at to be defendable by other members who are on line. So a crew member is shot out, if online I should be able to shoot back but also ask other online crew members to shoot too.” He ended with a few more suggestions of “oh and a crew safehouse. Oh and additional crew protection only available to crew members. Oh and ice cream on Thursdays.” Whilst we can't see Ice Cream being given to all of the community on a Thursday, the other suggestions would help the balance of the game!
Finally we turned to Keatsy the crew boss of Bullet Woundz and fed him a few questions. He first shared his view points on the update as a whole stating “It is obviously very beneficial being able to give my members bullets. Not just for the shooting side of things but bullets can now be used as prizes in busting competitions etc..” We then corrected him and informed him that he could always have given bullets to his crew members as prizes. When he realized that he changed his answer telling us “Well it's no different to the way it is now really as you can simply accept someone into you're crew, give them the bullets them kick them.”
So there we go. A range of views and mixed opinions. Some crews see this as useful others don't. Will this stop Bots (if they exist) or will bots just look out for different things? Will this make Bullet Factories even more valuable or will this make them too dangerous to hold? Is this a useful update? We at the Buzz think so! Anything which can slow down Bot accounts has to be useful! Restoring the game balance is desperately needed. Is this the end of the crew updates? Lets hope not, but only time will tell!
