This week we all witnessed the decrease of 'Players online in the past 24 hours’. A few weeks ago there were around 1,000 players online in the past 24 hours. This week we didn’t even pass 900 players. Does this mean Bootleggers is literally dying or will those players eventually come back? In this article I will give my opinion about the current state of Bootleggers. Please post your opinions below, but keep it clean. Complaining is easy, solving problems is harder.
So less people are playing Bootleggers than before. The first question we need to answer is; why? Are players leaving because BSF2000 is late with his updates? Or are they leaving because they got killed with millions of dollars on hand? I think most players are leaving because of the lack of challenge. The game has different features than a few years ago, but the ‘key’ of Bootleggers is still the same. It’s like playing Monopoly with your family every day. Sometimes you use a different token, but the game remains the same. Isn’t it normal that players are leaving the game after playing some years?
What is the problem then? I think the biggest problem is attracting new players. When a new player joins Bootleggers he/she will most likely have a lot questions. The player will go the FAQ, which is still offline. The player will have no idea what to do and will log out; he/she will never log in again. It’s also possible that a new player will create a topic on the Game Forum by asking what to do. Now we meet problem number two; the huge amount of trolls on Bootleggers. The new player will most likely get a reply which is pretty useless. The way to solve it? As stated earlier in this article, make sure the FAQ works.
Bootleggers is a product. When you’re selling a product, you need to make sure that your product meets the requirements of your customers. At this point of the game, it doesn’t. We can complain about it, but we can also try to fix it. BSF2000 has been very inactive this round, but he’s becoming more active as we speak. Of course, you won’t get any players back with a new Black Jack feature. Maybe the ‘Achievement feature’ will change something? I think Bootleggers needs a massive make-over. Bring back the Establishments with some fancy new buildings and make sure it’s worth joining a crew.
So what is your opinion about the current state of Bootleggers and how do you think we can bring those players back? Complaining is easy, solving problems is harder.
