The BootBlast Sorin_Markov

So it's back and renamed! It has a new team manning it and it's been here for almost thee weeks and has done 16 shows now. I'm talking about The BootBlast! DefiantMonkey, Magz, iAldo and Forbidden have teamed up to run the show and so far it's been very successful! The four of them have done a wonderful job! Whilst the show is online the Game forum has become active again, even if it is just one topic! The Moderators are involved in discussions and lots of give aways are happening! So far they have peaked out at around 25 listeners. But with nearly 300 users online last night, what happened to the rest of you? And of those listeners, how many were really there?

Well on the 15th broadcast they gave away a lot of points (donated by Sky) in a series of competitions. The first was a simple anagram: Be Expel Hotline Rhino. For those of you who were listening, or have a quick mind, that can be re-arranged to say The Phoenix Rebellion. The first six to send iAldo or DefiantMonkey the correct answer were entered into a dice game for one hundred points (congratulations to the winner, but his name seems to have slipped my mind).

Another quick contest, iAldo jumped into the jail and the first person to bust him won fifty points. For those of us refreshing like crazy, we didn't even see him hit the jail the buster was so quick! (Congratulations to SirPatjuh).

Later they played two songs together and said the name of one song and asked listeners to bm the name of the second song (which was a Kayne West song called Mercy). The fastest person (ShyGuy) received fifty points. Nice and simple, something that many of the Bootleggers could have named. (Congratulations ShyGuy).

Then the final give away was even easier. There were twenty three listeners. Each listener had to bm iAldo or DefiantMonkey saying anything they wanted and they received ten points! Yet only thirteen people did so that was another one hundred and thirty points given away. So that was three hundred and thirty points given away. They have another one hundred and seventy points for the next show so it will defiantly be worth listening in!

"But how do you listen" in we hear some of you ask? Well there are three ways. You can tune in through iTunes by pressing Ctrl + U and typing in 109.169.27.91:18853 (Their IP for the show.) You can do the same thing through Winamp, but pressing Ctrl + L. Or you can follow this web link: http://bootcast.listen2myradio.com to listen in to the show. But the downside to the weblink is that after five minutes or so it tunes out so you have to refresh your page! The team are working on a fix for this.

So what else does the BootBlast show do? Well they try to play every request for their listeners. Last night the requests ranged from Justin Bieber, Mariah Kelly and Abba all the way to Slipknot! They can even play youtube videos, so if you have a favourite band which isn't well known it's a good chance for the community to hear your taste and possibly develop some new music tastes! Simply tune in and send off those requests! Or if your trying to sell points for a premium price, what better then to hear iAldo tell everyone your username for those requests to be flooded into your inbox?

There is another service which the BootBlast offers. They are giving away free advertising. If you own a casino and it has a great high bet and you want the community to know, simply message one of the DJ's and they will tell everyone where the casino is and how much the max is. You could even be clever and team up with the other casino owners in your state and agree a series of bets to offer "Pennsylvania gambling, all max bets are over fifty thousand dollars, come gamble anywhere within the state" and see how many people flock to you.

But what is the most important thing that we, as a community, can do to support these three great guys giving up their valuable time? Tune in! The shows are funny, the comments witty, the interaction high and the prizes are free! Your not losing anything and you'll get to hear some great (and some awful) music! But more importantly you will be participating in the community spirit, something which Bootleggers has been missing for a long time! We at the Buzz commend the team (not just because one of our writers is on their team) and want them to know what a fantastic job they are doing!

Also, there will shortly be a timetable for when they will be hosting shows and who will be hosting them. They hope, in the future, to do more duel shows as both DJ's enjoyed themselves last night! So listen in for a lot of laughs (and the occasional belch), especially if BifreGoon is online!
