So who would have guessed it? The real life recession has hit the Bootleggers community! Will the next update include day jobs? Will we have to begin putting together our Bootleggers CV’s? With point prices skyrocketing, currently at $17,000 per point (50 points = $850k), everyone is struggling to buy those large batches of points we’re so used to. But where else is the ever-rising point price affecting within Bootleggers?
To reset your OC timer with 10 hours left now costs a whooping $1,7 million. $5,000 now costs $170k!! And finally; to reset your vacation timer costs $8,5 million. Now of course we all know there are players out there with that kind of money. But for the average Joe like you and us at the Buzz, OC’s will be done every 12 hours, we’ll earn our $5k the old fashioned way and we’ll take one vacation a lifetime (and it’ll probably be to Blackpool).
But what else has been affected by the point price rise I hear you cry! Casinos my dear friends! With Keno’s and Roulettes being sold for 40 points average, Race Tracks being thrown away for an average of 35 points and Blackjacks no more than a booby prize worth 10 to 15 points. The only casino that can really hold its head up and remains worthy of praise are the Slot Machines! To find Slots less than 100 points would be a rare sight indeed, with the average price sitting nicely on 115 points.
These huge drop in prices look very dramatic indeed but let me remind you once again of the point price! While Keno’s and Roulettes are going for 40 points, one should remember that 40 points are now $680k and even though the Slots have dropped from 350 points to 115 points, one will still set you back a nice lump of cash ($1,955,000 million). More and more we’re seeing people lose their casinos now, due to no one being able to buy them for such drastic amounts of money. High max bets are also reactions to the point price, how else is one going to make their money back?
Of course you’ll remember the Russian Roulette? A grand prize of 1,000-point to one lucky contestant who faces death. The next one will be held on the 27th of November, but with the point price, rather than the usual $7 million worth of points, the prize will be worth a massive $17 million! For a couple of days work to earn yourself the rank of Boss, $17 million seems like an excessive amount of money! So keep an eye out for next weeks Russian Roulette and from all of us at the Buzz good luck!
We have to ask ourselves though, why has the Point Price increased so dramatically since the start of this round? Does no one want to buy points anymore? Has the interest in Bootleggers dropped to such a low that real money is no longer worth spending on Bootleggers? Or maybe people ARE buying points, and we have such a back log of points to be verified that the Point Price can do nothing but go up as the number of points verified within the game drops lower and lower.
So what can we take from this? Will the point price continue to decrease or rise again? Will one become N.Rich from selling a handful of points? Where will the money to buy points come from? Or will the era of skyrocketing Point Prices come to an end soon, returning to a nice round figure of $7k, allowing the poorer of the BL community to ensure their money is safe if they suddenly get hit?
All we can do ladies and gentlemen is sit back, save millions for our points and hope.
