This sunday we've got two new volunteers and their names are Aldarion and Mika. Two real life friends who are moderating this game already for a few years. We hope you enjoy this weeks 'Behind The Name'.
Our first victim of this Sunday is a moderator, our one and only Aldarion!
What is your real name, age and where are you from?

For how long are you playing Bootleggers?
I started in May 2004 but it took a couple of months before I really started playing
How is it to be a Moderator for Bootleggers?
It's different, great fun, but different. I sometimes definitely miss the experiences I used to have as a player and it will probably not be ever the same again so that's a bit of a shame. I never regretted the choice though, the challenges are different and I still really enjoy the game, just in a different way.
If you had to choose between Mika and Emma Watson? Who would you choose?
Emma Watson, easiest choice in the world
This one will be a little bit harder, I think: Emma Watson or your most favorite Pizza in supersize of 4 meters in diameter, what would it be?
Damn, that's a tough choice. I'll probably pick the pizza even. I'm not that big of a fan of Emma anymore.
Do you have any achievements next to becoming a Moderator?
I guess the road towards it consists of couple of achievements, HDO, Buzz editor.
What’s the best pizza?
Vesuvio
What’s your most favorite alcoholic drink?
Beer, and more specifically the Belgian beers. I really like the Rochefort series, that's my absolute favourite beer.

How did you start playing Bootleggers?

Was your first name on Bootleggers also Aldarion?
Nope, it was juanezzz. After that I switched to Lindir when the juanezzz account was killed in a later round and then I got banned (yes) and picked Aldarion to go underground for a while. I kept that name from then on
Where did your obsession of Emma Watson start?
I think it was 2008, when we had Fierce Allegiance. The crew forum was just a place to joke around and everyone did funny things, I guess that's how it started.

What’s your most favorite feature on this game?
I guess I don't really have one favourite, but I like the way the bootlegging system works, especially with the ability to negotiate prices. In the end I do like the forums best of all though.
Is there something you want to say to all the players?
Thank you all for playing and I hope you still enjoy the game. We've got some great updates planned that will even change some vital game aspects. It looks very promising, so get excited!

What is your real name and where do you live?
I live in Groningen, the Netherlands.
For how long are you playing Bootleggers
I have been playing Bootleggers since 2004, so for eight years now. I signed up when some classmates of mine did.
How did you come up with the name Mika?
It was the name of a vampire prince in one of the books from the Darran Shan saga. He was called Mika Ver Leth. I really liked the name and decided to use the name Mika on here. Eventually players started referring to me with the name Mika so I decided to stick with it.
Do you like your current position as moderator?
I do. I like being able to contribute to the game in the way the Moderator position allows me to.
For how long do you know Aldarion already?
I've known Aldarion for almost 22 years, really. Our parents are friends.
What is so amazing about Iditarod?
That is difficult to answer while only using a limited amount of words but here goes: first of all the heroic event it commemorates (the 1925 serum run to Nome) should never be forgotten I feel and the dedication of those involved in that run is a remarkable example of putting the needs of others above your own.
Then there is the lifestyle that it honors of living with the dogs and working with them to accomplish a goal. Plus working in a team and putting the needs of the team ahead of your own because you rely on them for survival.
The Iditarod is not just a race but also a test of mental and physical fitness, the resolve of a contestant is tested as well as their ability to deal with sleep deprivation and harsh conditions. It is truly magnificent to me.
Do you like huskies?
I do, yes. I am amazed by what they can do and how strong they are.
Are you planning to participate in the Iditarod?
It is a dream of mine certainly. I do have plans to travel up North once I have completed my studies so that I can get an actual feel of how it is to work with sled dogs. If I like that then Iditarod could well be next.
What work do you do in real life or are you still studying?
Currently I'm a student and I have a job as a teaching assistant as well.
If you would win twenty million dollars, what would you do with it?
I would probably give some to my parents and friends. Then after having finished my studies I'd look into moving to Alaska and setting up a kennel there (I would imagine).
What are you really enjoying in your life?
I really enjoy teaching to be honest. And spending time with my friends, which usually sparks interesting conversations.
Have you ever been mad at Aldarion?
Not that I can remember. We have disagreements of course, but nothing that actually got one to be mad with the other.
Do you like Emma Watson too?
She fine.
Do you currently have any favorite series?
I really like How I Met Your Mother and I'm watching season 8 right now.
What is your opinion about the Buzz?
I really like it. Being a former Editor myself I know it can be hard work to set it up and supply content for it week after week, but I really think it's important to do and that the Buzz is an important feature, if only because it allows players that have been gone for a while to catch up.

I must admit I haven't.
