Behind The Name Kraai

This week we have two moderators again, their names are Sky and Riserva. Always wanted to know more about these two guys? Well, this is your golden chance! Do you want to be in the next Behind The Name? Drop me a bootmail!

Why in earth do you call yourself ‘Sky’?
My very first account was something terribly innocuous, being all of 13/14 I lacked the imagination I showed later in my Bootleggers career. After that account died, though, I was stuck. It was my first death and I'd never needed to be creative on the spot in such a way before. There was a TV advert on for some nonsense and part of the commentary was "The sky's the limit". I instantly put TheSkysTheLimit as my username. Overtime this got truncated to TheSky and, especially on IRC, to simply Sky. Since then every single name I've ever used has involved the word Sky.

And how did your parents call you, and when did they give you birth? And where do you live?
My parents call me useless. It says so on my birth certificate. But then the clerk at county hall said "You can't call a child that" so they called me James instead. I was born in November 1990, which makes me 22. And I live in England, home of wild exaggeration.

How’s life as the newest programmer of Bootleggers?
It's going well. I think I know my way around the place pretty well, and while some players may get errors every now and then these aren't me making mistakes (usually) but errors caused as pages get opened by players while being reuploaded. I'd like to mention that they are nothing to worry about and certainly don't deserve a topic for every single one.

What is your biggest achievement as player or moderator?
As a player, probably killing a Nation Don with 500 bullets. Admittedly, it was requested, and he'd been hardkicked down to 1% health and sold his protection, and fired his bodyguards. And fair enough, I did fail the first time... who knew 100 bullets isn't enough to kill a Nation Don with 1% health as a Legendary Don?! That was a proud day.

Do you have any hobbies?
Besides avoiding the sun (as all Englishmen do) not really. My one real hobby is web developing and (to a far lesser extent web designing, though I'm truly awful at it). And thankfully I get to do that for a game I love now. It's a really great hobby to have.

How, in the Elite Guard, do you deal with Aldarions obsession for Emma Watson?
Oh it's so gross in there. There's pictures of her everywhere, and used tissues... We've thrown so many interventions but I think we've lost him.

What’s your most favorite food?
Pizza, or Tikka Masala.

What’s your best feature/update that you have done this round?
I'm really very proud of the bust party in the forums. I think it's officially recognised a small but important community of busters who are finally starting to get some proper rewards for their efforts. I don't think there's been a single day where there hasn't been a bust party thrown. And when I was making it I was worried people were going to stick to the manual method because what I'd created was too restrictive. I'm very pleased to see that's not the case.

Similarly I'm also proud of the Russian Roulette feature, again in the forums, which has turned what was already a great spectacle into something everyone can enjoy. Whether you're a participant or an observer, you can take part and hopefully make a load of money in the process.

And also the promotion rewards.

Are you playing any sports?
Oh good God no. Sport is for people with measurable body strength. No my only sport is typing. Or extreme chess. That gets pretty rough I tell you.

What kind of work are you doing? I bet something as programmer?!
At the minute I'm a mere sales assistant. I haven't quite figured out what I want to do with my life... but I'm only 22, I've still got time... right?! But when I'm not having crises of careers I'm having existential ones, as I'm studying Philosophy part time at a local college.

What is your most favorite feature on Bootleggers?
I wonder about this a lot, and I think given the amount of times I've made a minor tweak to the files, it's got to be the forums. No-where else in the game can you see such an eclectic group of misfits coming together and having a laugh, or discussing politics or K-Pop in the OTF, or the latest Crew wipe in the Game Forum, or advertising their unlimited Keno in the Classifieds. All corners of this great game come together and blend seamlessly into one community, and I love every inch of it.

Do you have an anonymous playing account?
I have three accounts. My Moderator account, my testing account (both of which in the EG) and another account which is unused and saved for more complex testing needs

Have you voted for the Buzz Awards?
I'm guessing this is no longer required but, no I didn't vote

If you could go on a date with any player, who would it be?
TestAccount. He's got the biggest... eyes.

And what would you do with that person?
Test stuff

If your house was on fire and you could save one item what would it be?
Laptop. For without it I'm a 22 year old loser. But with it, I'm so much more... I'm a 22 year old loser with a laptop.

Did you have a dream as little kid? Something you wanted to do or be?
I had many dreams. I wanted to be an astronaut (classic) a taxi driver, a bus driver, a train driver, and for a brief period, an actual train, but I think my most enduring dream is to just be happy. And rich. Like, private island rich.

What are your opinions about the Buzz?
Everyone who works for the Buzz, and dedicates hours of their real life to a virtual newspaper set 80 years ago when none of us were alive, deserves a medal, and a life coach.

Is there something that you want to say to all the players?
I love each and every single one of you

We'll keep the first one for those who know me, 24 and Slovenia.

How did you come up with the name Riserva?
It is a word which is used to indicate a sort of superiority in Wines.

Could you tell us what the difference between a Moderator and Head Moderator is?

If you were the richest man on earth, what would you do first with your money?
Invest it in something and live off the interest Plus, I am a huge believer in charity, so some of it would go there as well.
