New Years Eve, a moment of festive joy following Christmas and the preparation for the New Year, which with it comes fireworks, booze and constant celebrations. That would be the case if this weren’t Bootleggers and thus following the pattern of mayhem in this festive period, we saw and heard bullets, blood and the screaming of several people trying to get away from the bloodshed. Who exactly was going on this murderous rampage that took the lives of 80 individuals? We at the Buzz, the suicidal reporters we are, decided to track down this homicidal individual. One name constantly kept popping up in the forums and when we took a closer look, it was clear for all to see, Morokei aka Nuvalai, boss of Asura, had in fact claimed the kills. Hoping not to also become a victim of his rampage we came closer and asked if he had a minute for the Buzz.
‘Sure, what do you want to ask?’ was the response from him and certainly not what we were expecting but it sure beats a bullet to the head. Now moving ahead with our newfound confidence we asked what was the reason for the shooting to which he replied: ‘As always it is to reduce the wealth of others and boost our own, relatively. Killing some potential shooters too would have been a bonus.’ That he surely did dropping almost two billion in one shooting spree. When asked how that affected Asura’s plans he stated that it wouldn’t have much affect and that hopefully it just delayed any that were up against them. Certainly a lot of bullets fired but how did he purchase them? We asked whether he used points or bought them from bullet factories. He replied: ‘I bought around 200,000 bullets from factories. I would have bought more but I only decided to shoot for sure yesterday, so it was kind of last minute. The remaining bullets were from points.’ Well on his profile it states he used more than a million bullets so to only buy 200k from factories would mean he used bucket loads of points. We at the Buzz wanted to know more about their resources. Morokei had this to say: ‘I'm not at liberty to say how much we have, sorry. We are comfortable, so long as we don't have any members banned unfairly for having too much money on hand, as has happened to others. I respect most of the moderators but one or two have serious issues that are jeopardising the natural course of the game. What ever happened to less staff interference?’
We at the Buzz noticed that whenever Asura takes part in shootings, it’s mainly Morokei, who coincidently has gone on many shootings sprees this round, we wanted to know whether some of his fellow members would join him in future killings. He stated that although he may have grabbed most of the spot light, his fellow members all do their fair share and sometimes shoot anonymously and this will continue should they not encounter any set backs. Seems fair enough and next we wanted to know how many members Asura consisted of and any allies/enemies they could tell us about. Morokei stated: ‘We would not fill a 15 man crew spot, let's put it that way! I've said before that we are friendly with The Family, and have been since long before we were known as Asura. I imagine quite a lot of people dislike us right now, so I think trying to list enemies would be an exercise in futility.’ Friendly with the infamous crew The Family seems an odd choice but a powerful ally nonetheless. We remembered that in our previous issue of the Buzz, he stated that stats crew often played their hand very poorly. We at the Buzz wanted to know if we could we possibly see Asura come on to the stats and show us how it’s done and finally if we could expect to see more action from Asura. Morokei replied: 'Unfortunately, it is not really feasible with such a small group. For me personally, I feel like I have had my fun in crews like The Legion, Winter Hill Gang, The Order etc. Playing anonymously is how I roll now, I enjoy it this way. I don't like to make any big claims, because Bootleggers is such that one second you can be Nation Don with top gun, 10 million bullets and $2 billion cash, and the next, you have nothing. I hope that we can continue doing what we are doing, but it is impossible to know what the future holds. Lastly, I would like to encourage people to read my freelance buzz article in issue 46 (try not to fall asleep half way through) and comment any thoughts or opinions, I will read them. Cheers.’ It seems Asura will stay underground due to their crew size but we could possibly see more from them in the future. We finished with thanking Morokei for his time before we heard him firing more shots. It seems he wasn’t done. Another three added to his list and we that, we got as far away from him as possible.
In conclusion, we at the Buzz think shooting sprees are becoming more and more common. In the past couple of weeks, we had noticed the total money drop significantly each time and this trend doesn’t seem to be stopping. Could we see more shooting from Asura in the future? Will others join in with the murderous rampage? How far will the total game money drop? We don’t have the answers to these questions but we at the Buzz will be there to bring you all the latest as it unfolds.
