For those of you that didn't know, there was a form in the Game Forum posted Tuesday allowing you the chance to vote on different aspects of your playing career. The voting ended Friday. First of all, a big thank you to all those that voted, there were 143 replies and only 4 of them were trolls!
First thing asked was How old are you? 42% of players are between 18 and 21. 31% are between 22 and 25, suggesting the majority of the player base are 25 and under. The game is male dominated, with 88% of people answered saying they're male.
The Buzz appears to be a popular feature, with 53% of you reading it and 40% occasionally, hopefully all 127 people who voted for these two options are reading this article!
3 players joined this year, however most are from 2004. 41% of current players joined in 2004.
The hours of play is quite evenly spread. Five hard core dedicated players spend over 12 hours a day playing, over a third of players spend 3-4 hours a day, making this the most popular answer, a little over a quarter of you answered with 1-2 hours, making this the second most popular answer.
For most of the time the form has been online, Crews were the most popular feature however when Friday night came, Kill was voted most popular with 34 votes, Crews received 29 votes. Apologies for omitting some big features such as Casinos, scoring 16, Busting, scoring 10, The Forums, receiving 8 votes and even The Mod Panel received a single vote!
Over half of the people who filled this in did not vote for their favourite player Some voted for themselves, the entire Buzz crew, The Elite Guard staff and even I got a vote! BettyB won with just 16 votes, There was no clear second place. After contacting BettyB informing her of this, she said "To be honest, it doesn't matter to me if I am most popular player or not. Of course it is an honour, thank you."
For the favourite crew, this was more interesting, hearing some old names such as The Clenched Fist, The Order and The Gallows Union, also some vague answers such as The one that keeps getting shot. All potential winners are currently on the stats. Boston Mob (10) Zombie Campaign (16) and eventual winners Event Horizon with 30 votes. Can hear the shouts of "Fix" already. Contacting BettyB again we got this, "EH being voted favorite crew reflects on the people within the crew and I am proud of the member of EH, it is because of them that EH is the crew that it is. On behalf of the members I would like to thank the people who voted for this honour."
The one question which was closer than any other was favourite current staff member. There was a request that a vote was discounted for a certain staff member as there was no option for none of the above or test account, which has been done, did not make a difference though. In last place was BSF2000 with 11 votes. In fourth place was Riserva with 28 votes. In third place Mika scoring 29 votes. Second came Aldarion 32 votes leaving our winner Sky with 33 votes, just a single vote ahead of Aldarion
When informed, Sky had this to say, "I feel overwhelmed! I'd like to thank the Academy for giving me this honour, as well as the director, and my agent... wait that's the wrong speech. Hang on... I feel relieved that everyone sees how awesome I am, I was worried that wasn't coming across. Still, I've only been at the job a month, Riserva, Mika and Aldarion all deserve the honour much more than I do. They work their respective tits off keeping the game as free from cheats as possible, and it's usually a thankless job, so on behalf of the rest of the players I thank them for being awesome too."
A lot of the comments given were reasons why they'd voted their favourite staff member and there was one comment giving a reason why they'd abstained their vote. Some others asking for Bootcast to return and for The Buzz to keep up their good work. Below are a few of the comments.
"I'm unsure why you'd want people to vote on who their favourite Staff Member is. I'd like to think that they are impartial, and treat everybody the same. As long as they are doing their job properly, then they are all equal. You wouldn't ask the Staff Members who their favourite player was, would you?"
"I like how the new witness statements are %'s now, if someone is wrongly accused it gets some people who otherwise not be involved in the killing aspect into it, whether they like it or not."
"I am glad to see that BSF listened to the masses of players to make some upgrades and bring back most of the true players who had given up on the last round!"
"I picked Mika as favourite staff, but Riserva is also right up there. It was a difficult choice. They are both very helpful and approachable. I would like to see some minor changes to the Gym, an update for the crews, and some new missions. The Buzz team rocks."
