Bootleggers has so many different features for players to use whether they like the thrill of stealing a car from a crew or if they wish to try their luck on a casino, Bootleggers has something for you. One of the smaller features however is the ability to bust yourself and others of of Jail. When Bootleggers was just a twinkle in BSF2000's eye he probably had no idea the busting would become such a big part of the game so much so that there are dedicated features to help bust parties run and often large prize funds for those who climb that dangerous ladder that is busting.
Bootleggers has adapted a lot in recent years with subtle changes to the game to continue the existence of the game. We've been lucky enough to see the popularity of busting increase massively over the last couple of rounds and we even have statistic crews which are dedicated to the dark art of busting. But why is it so popular? Why do people hold bust parties? For a number of reasons. Busting is one of the simplest tasks on Bootleggers and requires just a click of a mouse to see whether you can restore a fellow players liberty. The camaraderie that has evolved around this does not just stop at the common "Thanks for the bust" Bootmail that often follows, players will attempt to bust their friends and crew members first, those who have done them good service and who have created friendships with them. The very idea that you can influence other people on the game so easily by just pressing "Bust out!" is startling. So has busting final had the glory that it deserves? In my opinion it certainly has; with the new implementation of the Bust Party feature along with the update to the jail, the game statistics and the top 10 alive and dead busters it looks as though this feature is final receiving the respect that it deserves.
We, of course, went in search of some members from our resident jail busting crew "JAIL" and tracked down FoxieV8 and asked him why he thought that busting was so popular all of a sudden. "Busting is fun! It's a competition and the better you get the higher you will end. Everyone likes to win a comp and enjoy a good time with others" This is very true, the new updates which Sky has brought to Bootleggers such as the bust party format in the forum and the new look of the jail have certainly seen an increase in the amount of bust competitions. We asked Foxie what he thought about the updates. He replied tell us that he "loved the new updates" and that they "seem to be making busting more popular".
"The bust party system is awesome in all ways! No negative word for that. The statistics of someone escaping a crime or jail breaking are good to see if people are busting or doing anything else. I think the mods made busting a more important thing". Again, this is very true. The Elite Guard have made busting more than just a perfunctory action of clicking and hoping, they have helped to transform this into a much bigger part of the game. Our conversation turned to the future and we asked Foxie what he'd like to see whether it be missions or some other busting feature. "Busting missions would be nice" he remarked "I have no idea what mission though.. The current missions are not so spectacular in the busting-area if you ask me. Maybe if we put our heads together something nice will roll out!" This is an interesting point as several of the missions are devoted in part or wholly to busting itself. But why has there been such a sudden rush to busting? In previous rounds it was not as popular as it is now so what has changed? "I think people finally found out how fun it is to set someone free and to join a bust party!" Foxie told us. "It fits perfectly in a row of crimes and auto burglaries". As a side not he also mentioned that "JAIL put the busting a little bit more on the map". There are indeed almost constant bust parties ranging from a few members up to those which really grip the entire community. For example Aldarion's 1337 bust party earlier in the year and Sky's bust competition, one of the most memorable of the entire round, in which busting was transformed not just into pressing a button and hoping but one where the format of the page was altered meaning that the bust link turned into an emoticon and dodged your mouse point when you attempted to click! Obviously this sort of thing is reserved for those with code access but it promotes busting as an exciting activity on Bootleggers none the less. We thanked Foxie for his time and left him in jail.
A lot has changed on Bootleggers and this is just another of the many updates but it is a very important one which provides prolific benefits to not just those who bust a lot but also for those who are yet to explore this intriguing feature of the game.
