Mission: Impossible Sodium

Missions are and have always been an integral part of Bootleggers. They have been through many variations and iterations but are still just as important. Many players repeatedly do them as their accounts are killed and get pretty good at them but presently once you've done them all, that's it; no more missions.

So Mr.Newscum would like to know why they are so good, well Mr.Newscum there are a number of reasons that missions are valuable to your account. The first and most prevalent perk of following through with the missions is that the XP you gain from them is very generous. Indeed, along with organized crimes, the missions are one of the activities that gains you most XP to rank your account up! Other benefits come from the rewards that you get when you finish the missions. The money, bullets and cars are all very well received and help to give you some of the things that your account sorely needs!

On the 19th May 2012 we saw not just the release of the second set of missions but also a new format which required the players to work with a partner. Many of the community love these missions and rightly so. The ability to complete the mission and acquire not just the reward but the passage to the next mission lies solely with your ability to work with other players in the community. This is an excellent challenge for some especially new players. When you first start Bootleggers you are greeted with a welcome message explaining about the game and then you're left to fend for yourself. Sure the Help Desk Operators and other friendly players will point you in the right direction but you may just find yourself a little bit lonely. These missions provide an excellent foundation and reason for players to contact each other and work together cooperating to achieve their common goal. The rest of the missions rely entirely on the players own cunning and skill to progress.

If missions are so valuable to the game then why do we only have 12 of them? Well this indeed is a very valid question. They provide ample XP, another activity which provides longevity to the game and a good way to interact with the community. The main reason is that there are more pressing issues to be resolved in Bootleggers first which is the unfortunate truth. Many players reach the end of the missions well before they reach one of the final ranks and some lose interest. BSF2000 has assured us in the past however that he wishes missions to play a continual part in Bootleggers so I am sure that we will see some in the future.

With this in mind the next logical question is what would we like to see in the future? I personally would like to see more cooperative missions in which you must work together. Missions should be difficult and pose some kind of mental challenge whether its working out who shot one of TonyT's seemingly infinite brothers or tracking down the right player there should always be an element of difficulty within them. I would also like to see group missions where more than two players can work together and involve other aspects of the game such as organised crimes (maybe push old TonyT needs a jewel from a New York bank vault!). The possibilities really are endless and the limits are only our imagination.

The missions are a recurring theme throughout many players Bootleggers careers popping up and weaving through the rest of the day to day activities. We must hope that once all of the other parts of Bootleggers have been preened that we can receive some brand new shiny updates. These are just my thoughts about missions however, I would love to see your ideas posted below and who knows, maybe BSF2000 will see one of yours and add it to the game.

Until next time, keep cracking those missions!
