Forum Post Of The Week Pericles

This weeks edition of forum post of the week had little choice in selecting not a post but an entire thread. As bodies fell all around him, visitor to Death Valley R2D2, began to panic and reached out in the Game Forum to make contact with the shooters, who later proved to be The Sacred Empire. Having done this, R2D2 went on to hand the crew over to a member of The Sacred Empire, and spark much debate and chatter in the thread which this all originated from! This is the thread in question:

To whomever shot Death valley - R2D2
I am not looking to get involved in the crew I applied to visit the crew and am now holding the crew please message me to sort this out thank you

It caused amusement for some, and anger for others. Some supported the actions of R2D2 where others condemned them. But what is your view on this bizarre situation? The facts are as such, that R2D2 had recently been accepted into Death Valley on a visitor basis. The crew had then been wiped by The Sacred Empire, who had obviously not accounted for this random visitor popping up. However the method and actions of R2D2 provided the talking point as he handed over the crew to the shooters. Should he have instead passed the crew on to a member of Death Valley, to try and maintain the tattered spot that remained? Or has he perhaps done them a favor by now allowing them to lay low off of the Statistics for a while, after such a swift exit?

It is fair to see both sides of this situation though. R2D2 was ranked Boss at the time of the wipe, and did not want to lose his account over something that, in his own words, did not concern him. However, it is the opinion of many that when you join a crew whether that be as a visitor or a Boss, you take on the issues of that crew whilst you preside in their spot. Maybe there should of been clearer protocol set out for this situation that R2D2 may of been able to abide by? Speculation was rife in the forums!

Without knowing the exact ins and outs of this situation, it is difficult to judge. However it must be said that it is doubtful you will be seeing R2D2 visiting any other crews any time soon, as if you get shot and drop, he might just hand it to the shooters! A bizarre situation and one which attracted much attention, unfortunate for the subject, but we are indeed defined by our decisions and actions in times of importance. How you define R2D2 after this, is up to you!
