Another week passed and another emerging group took its place in what seems to be an ever-dimming spotlight. It has to be said, before we went about establishing the facts of these shootings and what lay behind them, relatively little had been made of them either in forums or complaints. Was this a sign that the shootings had been a success, or that perhaps the targets hit had been correct and not wanted to speak out? Rumors circulated quickly about the possible groups behind the shooting, with two emerging perpetrators, who lay claim to the kills of both No Redemption and a collection of crewless accounts. The name of Brothers was quickly established by the two, the latest in a string of such groups to emerge from the shadows. But was this group, the real deal? Or were rumors correct?
Our first port of call was an interview with one of the two Brothers members that had revealed themselves in this action-packed spree. We caught up with Symbolic, the higher ranked of the two shooters, for a chat. Our first question for him, inquired about Brothers itself as a movement, what did he have to say about them. His answer was far from expected, as he said, “Well first thing about Brothers is we really are actual Brothers. I wish he was on at the moment but apparently he likes to shoot and run.” A question which immediately sprung to mind, is how you can lose the location of your own brother, but a family affair is what this is claimed to be! We moved on from this, asking Symbolic if the two revealed members were therefore the extent of the crew. His answer was indirect and left for much speculation, as he said, “Well two Brothers are shooting at the moment. There may or may not be another couple that have yet to reach their goal of bullets.”
As with many attempted crew wipes this reset, a failed kill looked to of proved the thorn in the side of the Brothers, as Fiasco was left standing and in charge of a re-named crew The Visibles. Perhaps Fiasco’s new crew was a brother crew of The Invisibles?! We asked about the failed shots, to which Symbolic replied, “lol i wish i knew that myself. Thats one of the reasons I wish joey was here. I'd say it was probably a failed attempt sadly enough. That was his only Don target so I'm assuming he shot incorrectly.” So despite being brothers of both kinds, it appeared communication between the two shooters had been poor, with Symbolic not knowing the status of his counterparts attempted kills.
We moved on in the interview, with our next question asking why they had chosen the targets they did. With little movement in either in-game money or bullet totals being apparent, there seemed little success in the shots. Before we did this however, we looked into a rumor which appeared to be circulating fast. It was claimed that several crews, who bore close ties to Asura, had lost either shooters or holder in this shooting. It was believed that Asura themselves had in fact been behind the shooting. Why would they do this? The reasoning was simple, they had become concerned with the growing levels of power shown by some of their allies and therefore in a bid to cut back some of this power, had hand-picked some names from its own safe-list that belonged to their allies, and taken them out. But who? A close look through the forums saw The Sacred Empire seeking Witness Statements of kills made in the spree! Surely they could not be working with Asura? Plus, if this was indeed the case, would they take these shots by Asura lying down? Or would it provide strain. Surely the Bosses of The Sacred Empire could not be seen to ignore such a disrespectful gesture. Or perhaps being held in regards of being too powerful, was more of a compliment! No Redemption had been thrown in as a target for cover purposes, with it realistically only amounting to a minimal amount of kills. A more than plausible rumor, but one which we will leave it down to you whether to take as fact or not.
We continued with our question for Symbolic as we were originally intending however, asking him for the reasons behind the shooting. He told us, “Originally we were just going to kill crewless accounts. making a push that everyone joins a crew that is boss plus. Encouraging crews to kill everyone is that not in a crew after they become boss. As we all know, crew updates are never coming. We, as a BL community, need to just do something ourselves. If everyone were in crews, we'd have no more random shootings. This one included. Every shooting would have a crew accountable. Yes, bosses and below ‘can’ shoot too but they couldn’t do the same damage as Higher ranks can do.” This seemed like a ludicrous and indeed foolish strategy, if true at all. But one which perhaps the Brothers genuinely view as possible. For every Boss or higher account to preside in a crew would surely mean nearly all crews full to a fifty member of more capacity! Perhaps it was however a further part of the cover-up of the actions possibly committed by Asura. Both shooters chose to hide their flag of origin, which further added to speculation, as many Asura members are fairly identifiable by their flags, and covering up these would obviously null any speculation in that area.
That brought to an end our interview with Symbolic. However with No Redemption’s crew spot lying in tatters, what would come of it? The spot had been swiftly renamed following the failed wipe by Fiasco, who now Bossed a crew named The Visibles. When we asked him to sum up the situation for us, he did just that, saying, “I was not a part of No Redemption.. We wanted a crewspot.. i was bored so i wanted to stay at the buttons as crewboss... when they got shot and i didn't it was clear that someone nog likes them...” But what were Fiasco’s plans for the spot? He told us, “i am trying to sell it... if not.. ill just have some fun.. it's nothing serious...” So, if you are looking for a crew spot, look no further than that owned by Fiasco!
With the future of No Redemption’s old crew spot still uncertain, and rumors of the Brothers shootings still hot off the press, we brought interviews with all parties to a close. Will we see more Brothers rise in the future? Will it become a brothers and sisters movement?! Only time will tell. Were Asura actually behind the shootings? Only a select few may know! But we leave you to ponder your thoughts, in a week which will surely provide what seems to be more regular action on the shooting side of things.
