A relatively small shooting, but one which appeared to carry a precise and effective impact. More than nine hundred million dollars was dropped from the total in-game money in the hours of midday on Sunday, as we saw a user by the name of SecondCubic attack several crewless accounts. Only eight bodies lined the pavement when the shots fell silent, however the impact was clear for all to see. After a while SecondCubic's profile bore pictures which appeared to lay his allegiance to a new crew, Vendetta.
We made contact with SecondCubic, all be it brief and of little substance, to see what we could establish regarding this apparent new group. At first when we approached SecondCubic for an interview we received a less than co-operative response, as he said, "Nope this game should first make proper game rules etc. Corrupt shit out here." What he meant by this, was not divulged, however a feeling of dissatisfaction was clear. That coupled with pictures the user had previously displayed, of an anti-Moderator nature, seemed to make for an entirely unhappy cube. When asked what he meant by this corruption, he told us, "Just leave me dying please.. I do not want to explain because you cannot help me."
We did however persist in our questioning of SecondCubic. Rumors, as always, quickly circulated as to the true perpetrators of the shooting. One name, all be it one which seems to always crop up, that was mentioned was Event Horizon. We asked SecondCubic about this, and although he did not directly deny the link, he appeared to want to distance himself and Vendetta from the claims, as he said, "Do you see Event Horizon on my profile? Rumor stays rumor."
Probing continued, as we asked SecondCubic what Vendetta played for. He was consistent in his vague answers, as he said, "Vendetta play for their own cause, I'm not trying to deviate from the truth in any way. These shootings are to be continued." An answer which may be seen to leave a lot to speculation. One point which was apparent however was that this would not be the last we will see of Vendetta. Whether that proves to be true, will remain to be seen.
But, was this a lone venture or one of a group? When first contacted, SecondCubic had told us he worked alone. However when we asked this at a later stage, he merely said, "I'm not alone." This clearly contradicting his earlier claims of being a lone wolf. But perhaps supporting his promise of there being more to come.
That brought an end to meaningful comments from SecondCubic. We did ask the user what the cause was that Vendetta represented, to which he replied, "No thanks. When I feel like telling that I'll use my profile for it." A generally mysterious character it would seem. In the mean time, keep an eye our for the acclaimed further actions promised by SecondCubic in representation of the group! Do you think that Vendetta is a genuine new group?
