The Chat #3 Constans

Hello and welcome to our third edition of 'The Chat' an article which looks to convey the opinions of a given user on all the hot topics that surround Bootleggers at the given time. This weeks edition stars the notorious Boss of Most Wanted, one of several famous underground units of the round. Commonly known as Aldo, whom for some time also bossed Statistics crew Axteze. We looked to see the potential difference between the chat we would have with Aldo and that which was held last week with long-term Statistics Boss DerSnaak.

Recent weeks on the game have seen a collection of underground movements that have popped up to complete efficient shootings, many in defiance of the Asura and The Family domination. We asked Aldo what he thought of these crews and their legitimacy, to which he responded, "I'm not so sure about the legitimacy of said crews, and their motives. A lot of these crews that appear from no where are usually one shot wonders, shoot maybe once or twice and then you will never hear of them again. They could also be face crews, possibly a statistics crew that doesn't want to publicly go against the dominant force for fear of their spot and future on the game." Going on to say, "There will always be people who want to rise up in search of power, so I don't make too much of it to be honest, after all it is a shooting game and that's what these people are trying to do, so fair play to them." An interesting hypothesis from Aldo then. Which Statistics based crews did he refer to when suggesting underground movements could be fronts? It has to be said though, the comment regarding one shot wonders is one which appears to draw some legitimacy from recent examples, with many coming and going as though checking into a one stop hotel. The legitimacy too of several recent shooters has been called into question, but with little conviction and nothing coming of it, yet.

The mention of Statistics based crews brought us onto our next question, which concerned growing numbers of users presiding in such crews. As numbers on the Statistics grow, is this a sign of peoples fear of being crew-less? "Definitely!" Aldo told us, continuing, "Being crewless is very dangerous at the moment, as you can see from all the recent shootings." So, as crew numbers increase and strength is shown in numbers, are we seeing a shift in power in terms of the round? Crews have gone largely untouched of late other than the smaller groups being picked off, but surely if one is to dominate a round, a crew of up to one hundred members poses an unwanted threat? We went on to ask Aldo how he felt this potential shift could affect the rounds dynamic, to which he replied, "I'm not so sure to be honest, I think there are only two things that can change the dynamics of the game, and that's BSF2000 pulling his finger out and the mentality of the players."

Player mentality is a phrase which has become all to common in recent weeks, being presented by Moderators and players alike. But what did Aldo mean when referring to this? "People complain and quit when they are shot and do nothing. As mentioned previously by so many people, it's not a social networking site, it's a game where the main feature is shooting people, if they die they should seek revenge, do what they can to fight back." Comments such as these are easy to make when you fight on the side of what many people consider to be the enemy. Most Wanted, the crew which Aldo currently leads, have strong links to Asura and can perhaps find it easier to make generalizations regarding other players mentality. But with it being hard for out-of-crew players to reach any sort of meaningful rank from which to conduct their revenge, how can players even hope to slip under the systematic killing radar? Aldo believed it more than possible, saying, "If you play smartly you can! Buy points to convert to bullets in case you are shot instead of gambling, find someone you trust to play with and don't keep all your cash on hand, work hard to make a small fortune and bank!"

The second point previously highlighted by Aldo was the work of BSF2000 as he said the Administrator needed to "pull his finger out." But what did he mean by this? We asked what he made of the games owner and rest of the Elite Guards' performance of late. This produced the longest answer we had yet received from the Most Wanted Boss, as he told us, "I think it's absolutely appalling, it's just constant apologies and dead end promises. At the end of the day, this game is a business for him and essentially the players who purchase points with their own cash are his customers, they should be his priority. It comes as no surprise though, BSF2000 has always been lazy and as far as I can remember has very rarely kept up to date on his promises. In all fairness I'm surprised the game is in the condition it is, people complain about how bad the current state of the game is, when in reality I'm surprised it's made it this far with the lack of care BSF2000 has put into it." A frank and perhaps fair assessment coming from Aldo then. But he was not done there, as he went on to say, "As for the rest of the Elite Guard, I think Sky is doing a good job, but without the backing of the man in the big red jacket, there is only so much he can do. Mika and Aldarion seem as if their hearts are in the right place, but I don't agree with some of the actions they have took recently are fair, and that's all I will say on that matter." This last statement clearly backing Sky as so many continue to do, but perhaps questioning some of the other Elite Guard team, seeming to have personal reason to doubt some of the duties they are carrying out. This may of course include the very public ban of Most Wanted member Haer's holder, which originally included Haer himself, a decision which was later overturned.

But what of the future of this round, and indeed the game? We asked Aldo where he saw this. His response was positive in terms of potential, as he said, "I'd love to see the crew update and what it offers to statistic crews. I think that could change how the game is played a lot, I can't see it coming until the start of next round though if I am completely honest, I think BSF2000 will use it as a selling point to get people to come back to the game. I honestly have no idea how the rest of the round will pan out." Continuing, "That depends on BSF2000 I guess, as for what I would like to see, obviously I'd love to see the game booming again, but that's not realistic. I'd like to see proper crew wars again, crews against crews, endless feuds over property, people to have the confidence to go about playing the game properly and do something, not just every one bitching about a group of around 25 people at most shooting people." So, Aldo would like to see what in part at least would be a return to the said glory days of Bootleggers, where crews fought on a daily basis and changing hands of property was constant. Of course this potential hinges on the reception of updates, which based on recent showings, we could be waiting a long time for. The word reset however has occurred in several interviews of late that have been conducted by the Buzz, which may indicate the imminent arrival of player unrest and the standard procedure game forum topics.

Before we concluded out interview with Aldo, we sought a word on his crew Most Wanted, who have been relatively quiet of late following their loss of link to any Statistics crew. Many have questioned the crew as being dead in the water. Was this true? Apparently not, as we were told, "We're certainly not out of it, far from it in fact. We are simply enjoying the game and will continue to do so. We may not be as aggressive as our friends, but we can certainly hold our own." Confident it seems then that Most Wanted are more than capable of going about their business at they see fit and in a manner which they enjoy.

That brought out time with Aldo to an end. The opinionated Boss of Most Wanted's stance on issues has brought controversy in the past, however there can be much clarity found in many of his answers as they reflect meaningfully on current times. But do you agree with Aldo's points? Do you feel that the future of the round is entirely different, or that there is no issue with player mentality? We want to hear your responses below. Maybe even, you feel you would feature better in 'The Chat' or know someone who would? We want to hear this too! Just post below or drop Constans a message with suggestions.
