What's Your Future? Constans

The future of the round. Something which draws very different reactions from anyone whom you choose to question about it. Some would claim that this round is in fact dead and over. Others would beg to differ, still vying to be dubbed the winners, best crew or wealthiest players of the round. But, does it really matter? How much influence does the outcome or history of one round have on the next? Do you, as the readers, think we are in a dead round?

Many recent interviews and Forum discussions have seen quotes drawn referring to this round as being dead. But what exactly do the users mean by this phrase? Is there no longer any point in pursuing any goals in the round? Should we all be sitting ranked at Scum, waiting for a Reset which could be years away? If the round is indeed dead, why do the power groups of the round continue to shoot and appear to still be vying to be called the 'winners' of the round? Surely by definition, a dead round has no life to it. Whereas in my opinion, the round is very much alive. We are seeing regular shootings, a stream of updates from the peoples favourite Sky, crews coming and going from the Statistics page, drops and peaks in the in-game cash and more.

Further to this, recent times have also seen what could perhaps be defined as a new chapter begin in the round. The inevitability of being crewless, ranking and ending up dead has prompted users to find themselves a crew. Numbers of users who find themselves apart of Statistics based crews has risen sharply for all to see. This results in them becoming the target for dominating parties, such as the recent shooting of Padrinos Palace carried out by The Family. Now, it has to be said this is not a fair representation of most crews as Padrinos Palace appeared to be happy to be dropped and simply return without a fight. However, should a more volatile crew be targeted, for example The Sacred Empire, it could result in a very interesting prolonged shootout in which there would have to be come definitive winning and losing.

In my opinion, there are two reasons why an individual would declare this round as dead. The first of those is arrogance, in thinking there is nothing else to achieve in the round. An ugly trait in my opinion, and one which will not see the best development in any player, as should a user have achieved the goals they originally set out with, the best way to better yourself would be to then set further realistic achievable goals and go about attempting them. The second is admittance of failure, in such a way that it comes across as arrogance. A user may declare the round as dead purely because they are giving up on their goals. By giving up in a way where they blame the dead round, they do not admit failure but instead look to push blame onto the state of the game. It is clear when a user is attempting to do this, and can be a clear reflection on those with little persistence or belief in their causes. Whether you agree with this or not is of course a matter of opinion, this is nothing more than my opinion of course!

In conclusion, I do not believe the round is dead. Far from it in fact. I think there is time, should it arise, for a new crew to come to the forefront and start bossing things. There is scope for a user to cause a storm in more ways than one should they have the right attitude or group of people around them. The round may be slow for many, but only due to your own application to the game. If you have a goal or a desire, there is still more than enough time in which it can be achieved. The only limitation to this rounds potential is the confines of your own imagination and unfortunately the imaginative nature of some seems to be in decline.
