Forum Post Of The Week Agrippa

An event which occurred over the past week or so was the stepping down of Himmel (or should that be Himmel?) from the Help Desk. The Boss of The Invisibles stepped down from the Desk after a controversial time in the Help Desk Operator hot-seat with his appointment being questioned by many from day one. His decision to step down only became apparent, for myself at least, when I saw the Game Forum topic entitled 'When did Himmel' in the Forums:

step down as hdo?

This was certainly not a publicized event, at least not until now. The largely criticized Help Desk Operator stepped down into the shadows of the round. This was not the first time we have seen this however, with there being two previous appointments to the Desk this round who have done the same.

Does this bring into question the selection process for those who operate the games Help Desk? With three retire-ees this round, perhaps it does. Surely those who are selected could be expected to serve at least one round in the hot seat and knowing what it entails upon appointment should be capable of standing up to the test?

It can however be said that it is no desirable position for the faint of heart. Himmel (I'm going to go with the non-yellow now, as he has well and truly left) came in for more than his fair share of haters and criticism during his service. Much of which of course may of been justified by his apparent lack of contribution in comparison to the rest of the team, but some of which was not. What do you think of the current HDO team? Should Himmel be replaced? Is the selection process flawed? Have your say, who knows it could get you somewhere!
