The BoS-list, you definitely do not want your name on that list. Players on this list are those who showed repeated serious behaviour against the rules on Bootleggers or those committing big offences, such as exploiting. What does BoS means and what exactly happens when you are on the BoS-list? Best of show list? Best opposite sex? Nu-uh, it stands for Ban-on-sight, which means all players on that list get banned once the Elite Guard spots them. A big punishment, however it is definitely not a lifelong punishment.
Players on the BoS-list have the ability to appeal their case. Only BSF2000 and Riserva determines the outcome of this appeal. Once the appeal is granted the player get placed on a probation list. It is not possible to get off the BoS-list without having been on the probation list. When you are on the probation list you have the possibility to play Bootleggers again, however they can be added on the BoS-list again with a very little violation. Is it righteous to let those players play again? They can be seen as the biggest cheaters of Bootleggers and they are all truly aware of their actions. The Buzz had a talk with one of the current Moderators; Aldarion.
Why should you remove a player from the BoS-list? The player obviously did something wrong and deserved a punishment. Whenever a player is exploiting, he/she is truly aware of his/her actions and therefore deserve a big punishment. How is it possible that these players are allowed to play again? According to Aldarion there are a lot of different reasons why people have been put on. It depends on each case. He'd be inclined to agree on exploiters, but it still depends on the seriousness of the offence. The players on the BoS-list are not all added by the current Moderators. Some players have been on the list for years and now have the possibility to get off the list. But if the specific case of a player is not serious enough, why is that player on the BoS-list? Technically the current Moderators are 'reviewing' the work of the previous Moderators on Bootleggers. We tried to explain this matter to Aldarion, who replied: ‘‘I disagree that people who are on the list should not be able to get off. When people do get off, it does not mean that they shouldn't have been on the list’’. Does that mean the BoS-list is just a ‘temporarily list’ for some of those bad-ass cheaters? Maybe, but a few weeks ago the Buzz heard an interesting rumour regarding a player who was removed from the BoS-list.
A few weeks ago the Buzz heard that a certain player (we are not going to state the name of that player) got removed by a Moderator from the BoS-list to fight against a specific underground crew on Bootleggers. What if this rumour is actually true? What if this was the argument to remove that certain player from the BoS-list? For the record, the Buzz never received any proof of this rumour, but we asked Aldarion if this rumour was really true and we also wanted to know a valid argument for the removal off the BoS-list. He stated: ‘‘If it was I wouldn't have been moderator any longer. Each case is very specific and depends on the player, the original offence, and the BoS appeal. There isn't a say universal reason to getting of the list’’. The Buzz also tried to contact the specific players and Moderator of the rumour, but we did not have any success.
The BoS-list, a big punishment or just a temporarily list? The current state of Bootleggers may lead to the removal of some players. Of course, the Elite Guard has a look on each specific case, however with the current inactivity of BSF2000 and Riserva things will definitely not get easier. I personally believe once a player is on the BoS-list he/she is never ever welcome anymore. I also believe everyone should deserve a second chance, however when you are added on the BoS-list you probably screwed up big-time. What is your opinion of the BoS-list and the probation list? Maybe you have more information about the rumour above? Let us know and we will update the Bootleggers Community in the next Bootleggers Buzz!
