This week we witnessed a new crew reaching the stats-page. Almost impossible, is what you should think, because the crew stats-page is full. There is no room for an extra crew, so what possibly could have happened this time, is the wipe of another crew, or a crew that sold his spot.
In this case, another crew sold his crewspot to 23rd Gunslingers Co.
Coastie, Boss of 23rd Gunslingers Co , didn’t want to share any details concerning the transaction. A respected and understandable decision.
What we can tell you, are the following words from Coastie : I bought the crew from TAO after Cammorra disbanded and I got the okay from them that it was clean.
First of all, what’s with the name of the crew, 23rd Gunslingers Co? A name that is not so obvious, but clearly with some deeper meaning.
I tried to Google it, but couldn’t find anything related to it, so I asked Coastie why he chose this name as the crewname. He told me the following : 23rd Gunslinger Co. name came from the real life Army unit I was in when I was in the USA military. We were the 23rd Military Police Company, and 'gunslingers' was our motto. So was 'Born for war' so I stole it from that.
It isn’t the first appearance of this crew on Bootleggers though, several rounds ago this crew was on the stats for several months, and was involved in several wars. The crew disappeared because they hadn’t got the time anymore. So the troops were disbanded, untill this round..
Although Coastie brought the crew to the stats, it wasn’t his first choice to be on the stats. He tried to join 3-4 crews, some of them with 6 vouches, and still got denied, because people think Coastie is ‘too dangerous’. When the old members of 23rd Gunslingers Co contacted him to start the crew again, he didn’t hesitate.
That 23rd Gunslingers Co is a crew to watch out for. It has a historical meaning in the war, their crewboss served in the war, and the crewmembers have always been soldiers and brothers in arms, who never back down from a fight. Coastie also told me that their main goal is to get the crew back in it’s former glory. What that means exactly, is something we will have to see for ourselves. We, from the Buzz, wish the crew the best of luck on the stats. Not because Coastie used to be a former Buzz Writer, or because Coastie told us that he liked the Buzz, but just because that’s what the Buzz does. Wishing people all the best.
