Mysticals Gripe MysticW1g

Welcome one and all to the second article of Mystical Gripe. In this columns you will read what has annoyed both me and other members in the Bootleggers community over the last few days. This week I approached the Game Forum to find my answers. As my message alert sounded I was drawn to this message from an anonymous user. Inside he/she stated:

What annoys me...

We all know that Bootleggers has lost a lot of players over the past few years and I honestly think one of the main reasons (maybe the only reason) for that is you can't do anything without being shot these days. I know this is a mafia based game and getting killed is simply part of playing this game and it's genre but it wasn’t like this a few years back or even a year ago.

Now you can just get shot for people simply thinking you're a money holder, or if you get to a certain rank, noteably Don.

Only in recent weeks have we seen any State Dons and our first Nation Don appear on the stats, and I am honestly surprised that they have lasted as long as they have. I have had accounts where I have joined a crew and died for being in that crew, and of course I knew the risk involved in joining a crew. So I thought I would go solo I then died when I reached Legendary GodFather for NO REASON whatsoever. I then came back joined a crew again and guess what I died again, then solo, then died lol.
I just feel that I can't hold alot of money on me, and that I will never reach Respectable Don let alone State or Nation Don.

I am an average player on Bootleggers I haven't got a stockpile of points or cash and I will never have thousands of bullets to hire myself out or just go on a rampage and kill loads of people. So for me and I feel like alot of players are in a similar situation we are simply just waiting to die lol, and when we do get shot it really is a pain in the arse as we have worked quite hard to get where we have got to especially as we have done NOTHING wrong.

I guess the point im trying to say is every time I die I ask myself if I can really be bothered to make a new account just to be killed again.

I agree with the above user who has chosen to remain anonymous. Recent times have invoked a very different playing style of a once fairly docile side of this game. When I first started very few people killed others unless there was a high bounty on them via the hitlist. The hitlist? Yeah, the feature that nobody ever uses.

Being killed is part of the game, but is there anything we can do to stop it? Do these killings result in the huge amount of leaving players? I do hope that if these killings continue many of you won't let it get to the point where you lose interest in restarting and subsequently give up. Bootleggers is possibly the longest running game of its type with the fan base it has. If it wasn't, in time that would surely mean the end of Bootleggers and then where would our faithful trolls go to whore a forum?
