Hello fellow Bootleggers and welcome to this weeks edition of: Forum Post Of The Week. As some of you know I am always patrolling the forums to see if anything interested would pop up. Random questions to be answered, russian roulettes to be entered and silly topics to discuss the living hell out of. This week I noticed a topic in the Game Forum with something only old skool members can relate to, however it's not something the newer players don't know about because there has always been alot of talk about it in the forums!
When I first saw this topic I was like: Wtf? I've never noticed this? But while thinking this, some old memories started surfacing and before I knew it I was dreaming about Bootleggers many years ago. I'm talking about the time you were criming and gta'ing your ass of when all of the sudden you received the message: You have been killed!
It wasn't only this text which would make you crap in your pants while reading it, it was the horrific picture standing beneath it: The Grim Reaper.
Of course we at the Buzz had to investigate this ghostly appearance of Bootleggers past and went straight to the Graveyard to check it out. I was walking among the filled up graves when suddenly it appeared! PassTheChicken was right, he wasn't imagening it!
So many questions remained when seeing this monster of our past. It was like the spinning barrel was brought back to Bootleggers and had set itself right back at it's original spot as one of Bootleggers finest memories. I had the urge to find out what the grim reaper was doing there and so I decided to Bootmail the only person who could've had an answer to this: Sky.
I was in such a hurry of finding out that I didn't take a proper interview with Sky, I just bootmailed him a bunch of questions which were scattered around in my mind asking me: Is it done on purpose? Does it have a reason why it's there? Is it the first sign of a possible reset?! Luckily I didn't have to wait very long for an answer from our beloved scripter Sky, within 5 minutes I received this answer:
"It's not done for any real purpose besides the fact that I had the graveyard file open, and had recently seen that the grim reaper's image was still on the server, and was up to mischief. It's not a bug, it's a random event that has a 1 in 5 chance of occurring, I think. And it's no sign of a reset! Don't read too much in to it, I was just being naughty and wanted to pay homage to the old school players who remember seeing that when they died. I might add something else as well in the nearby future but you'll have to find out for yourself!"
The answer is straight and simple, Sky was just being naughty and maybe he just wanted to give us the old scare of getting killed once more while seeing the grim reaper. I think for the future we have to keep in mind what Sky's capable of and I think we must prepare ourselves for more to come. I'm glad I only have to see it when I choose to see it, and not seeing it all of the sudden while criming or doing an Organized Crime telling me that I died of gunshot wounds.
