Forum Post Of The Week Daltonn

Hello fellow Bootlegger and thank you for taking your time to read this weeks Forum Post Of The Week. I’ve had a hard time finding a interesting post which I could write an article about.. But finally it presented itself to me and I must say I’ve had quite some fun following the posts in this topic! The topic I am talking about is: “use point” by TonyS.

This topic is about the recent addition to some of the Bootleggers pages. When getting captured by the police for a crime you have commited you are thrown in jail. When being in jail you can try and free yourself out of it. Attempting to do so and failing at it will result in being locked up for 240 seconds without being able to get busted out of your restrictions. But there has always been a way for you to escape from it yourself, and Sky made it easier to do so since this week. A few days ago Sky added a button which says: “Use point!” to bust yourself out of jail when no one else can attempt this. Of course, this has always been an option if you went to the points page and using the “Jail bust” feature which has been there for as long as I can remember. It’s not only the being in jail page which has been modified by our green coat Sky, you can also notice a newly added button on the train station page. After traveling to another state you won’t be able to travel to another one for 1 hour and 30 minutes, unless you use points of course! This option has always been available and mostly used by players on a killing spree, but it’s accessible to every other Bootlegger as well! A few days ago when Sky decided to make some modifications to some of Bootlegger’s pages he also adjusted the train station page a bit. After traveling it now says: “For 10 points you can reset your timer and travel again immediately!” with a white button beneath it stating: “Reset!” But it won’t end here, no sir! There is another page which has been modified for your convenience, do you already know which page? For the people who haven’t been made aware of this change, or found out for themselves, I will tell you. It’s on the Organized Crime page of course. This point feature where you can use points to reset your timer is one of the most used features on the points page I reckon. But now Sky has added a simple button to the Organized Crime page saying: “Reset your timer - For … points you can reset your timer and OC again immediately! ” For the ones that don’t know, it isn’t possible to reset your Organized Crime timer right after you did one, you can only reset your timer if it has less than 10 hours on the clock. For some you trained up their stamina level to 40, this means waiting half an hour before being able to reset it. For the ones who are to lazy to train up their stamina level you’ll need to wait 2 hours before be able to reset it. For every hour closer to zero you’ll get a reduction of 10 points, starting at 100 points for 10 hours, ending at 10 points for 1 hour or less.

But why has Sky added these buttons? I will give you a few answers to this Sky has already gave you in the topic stated in this article. The first, but surely not the number one reason, is it being user friendly. It’s much easier now to click a button and continue your business then first going to the points page after deciding you want to spend points to solve the problem you’re dealing with. You could say it’s merely a shortcut but using such a shortcut will also give you more time per day to spend on being a mobster. It’s also a way for people to spend more points on their account in ways they wouldn’t even think about. Sky’s trying to make is so that people can use their points with ease, sometimes they already need to wait up to 48 hours to get them verified so at least all he could do is trying to make sure you’ll be able to spend them with ease. He can make you want to use the points you’ve waited up to 48 hours to use. Another reason would be is to lure people into using their points. The game hasn’t been around this long as it has if no one would’ve been buying points with real life money. Every game you come across nowadays is aimed at getting you to spend money, so why should Bootleggers be any different? It is different in a way you don’t see any banners or other ways to lure you in spending your real life money besided from the willingness to spend points, the only advertising to use points in the history of the game has been these simple buttons which doesn’t even force you to spend more but just reminds you that you could spend a few points to make the Bootlegging life easier. The only waiting time we have to do now, is the option to buy ourselves out of the CAPTCHA codes using an x amount of points! Which obviously will never happen.

And for all you whiners out there whining about this simple addition, please keep in mind the following:
