Random Shootings & Dead Nation Don Riverpenguin

Early this week we witnessed two shooting sprees in a matter of hours, claiming a total of 69 lives. Whilst both events were fairly modest in comparison to the events of last week, they still nevertheless made a mark on our Bootleggers community. Our two shooters go by the names of Pride and RGT, who acted separately and in their own interests in a somewhat random shooting. The irrational actions of RGT left our former Nation Don dead at the hands of Jailbreak Paradise, who were keen to not be associated with the shootings.

It was 17:12 Bootleggers time when our first shooter, Pride, began his attack, which resulted in the death of 36 users all ranked between Assassin and Legendary Godfather. Unfortunately, he was shot shortly after the attacks and we were therefore unable to contact him to get an interview. We can deduce however, that the attacks were uncorrelated and aimed at entirely crewless accounts. Perhaps this was a final goodbye from our shooter, who wanted to use what resources he had left to do something of note before quitting. No matter what the motive, it leaves another trail of bodies lying in the wake of The Family.

Less than two hours later, we witnessed our second shooting of the day, with RGT following suit in an attack that sent a further 23 members to the grave. Among the dead were several high profile accounts including Bots, who is rumoured to have been in possession of over 600,000 bullets. Our previous shooter, Pride, was also killed in the attack. Not long after his actions, RGT also found himself dead, with his former crew Jailbreak Paradise behind the kill. We were interested to find out why they had ordered his death sentence, so interviewed crew council member Shiverv6. We first asked why Jailbreak Paradise felt it was necessary to kill RGT and he gave us the following answer: ‘First of all we hated the action, as he was one of our members. It is impossible for one person alone to make a crew (with multiple members and which is on stats for a longer period). But it is quite easy for one person to break a crew. With his actions he betrayed the crew, and brought the crew in grave danger. We had to handle in the interest of the crew. So that’s why we shot him. To save the crew!’ Many will sympathise with the hard line Jailbreak Paradise were forced to take in this situation, however, we enquired as to whether they were still worried about people associating them with the attack. ShiverV6 replied by saying ‘I don’t know.. I hope not because we are not a crew which shoots people or is aiming for Power and Wealth. No we are only here for the communities fun and busting!’ Obviously the actions of RGT have hurt the reputation of [Jailbreak Paradise, although they remain eager to keep their status as a peaceful crew. Unfortunately, we were unable to get hold of RGT before his inevitable demise, which means we can only guess as to what his motives were. There are suspicions that the accounts he targeted were users that he had taken a disliking to in one way or another, although there is no evidence of that and we can only assume he was shooting randomly.

We here at the Buzz are certainly being kept busy; what are your opinions on the recent shootings? Do you think users like Pride and RGT are good for the game or a blemish? Would you prefer it if the shootings were aimed at crews or does it not matter? Whatever the case, we here at the Buzz will be keeping you up to date with all the latest shootings throughout the week!
