Forum Post Of The Week Daltonnn

This week in forum post of the week I’m going to talk to you about a feature which has been removed from game and hasn’t returned so far. I’m talking of course about ‘Arm Wrestling’. This feature was removed around the time that Gymnasium was added to the game. Don’t mistake it to have been switched for Gymnasium as this has not been the case at all. The reason Arm Wrestling vanished from Bootleggers is because it wasn’t as used as much the staff would have liked to see. Since it wasn’t being further developed it was removed from play.

Arm Wrestling really is a thing of the past. It has been so long ago since it has been a feature on Bootleggers. However, a lot of people still seem to remember it as being a fun feature and something almost everyone used. This was not the case anymore in times of its removal. Hardly anyone still used the feature as it was overwhelmed by players who’d survive as long as they did, resulting in having a very high wrestling level. People having levels well over 150 were still losing on a daily basis and this wasn’t what the staff had in mind when creating it.

After some time using the Arm Wrestling feature there was a update made by our beloved Sabin who was an administrator at the time. He felt Arm Wrestling was a slowly dying feature and wanted to prevent it from actually dying and resulting it to be removed from the game. He received several tips trough “Feature Suggestion” and went on to update the slowly dying feature. In order to save the feature he had to update it in a way new players/died players had a fair chance on winning as well as players who’ve reached a very high level. This resulted in the creation of different strength classes, he thought that this would make the feature usable again for every player. “Strength classes have been added and it is only possible to wrestle someone from your own strength class, as the Arm Wrestling page does not show anyone from a different strength class. The Strength Classes expand from level zero to more than 1,000. Flyweight deals with the players new to the feature with levels between zero and nine. Lightweight, between ten and 29, Welterweight between levels 30 to 59, Middleweight at level 60 to 99, Cruiserweight between levels 100 to 149, Light-Heavyweight with levels 150 to 399(150-399). Heavyweight comes in second best including levels 400 to 999 and crowning the tip of this apex is Super-Heavyweight dealing with anyone with levels higher than 1,000.”

Even after this update, the feature didn’t get used as much as it did before. People quickly found out that a way for them to win was to reach the top level of a class so no one could beat them and the money came pouring in. After this ‘big’ update Sabin promised the Bootleggers community to come up with future updates so that Arm Wrestling could be restored in its former glory but sadly, those updates never came. Arm Wrestling has been removed because of above standing issues and the question remains; Will it ever return to Bootleggers? Only time, or BSF2000, can tell.
