Behind The Name ShyGuyXIX

Each week we at the Buzz interview two random players of Bootleggers. How random? Well, we go to the Users Online, close our eyes and we have a few clicks. Awesome, we know. So, here is the interview of this week! Enjoy!

Sonaxxxx

Sonax, please introduce yourself to the Bootleggers Community!
Hey, my name is Sonax and I first started playing Bootleggers 7 years ago. I've played it for a roughly a year and then quit. Recently, I rejoined to see if I still liked it and if i gotten any better. It was shocking for me to see that it is still in beta. In my first weeks I got shot twice in random shootings. So I decided to join a crew to prevent that from happening. I've joined ETS and now switched over to JBP to have some fun. I'm a player thats not really involved in the BL politics, but I enjoy playing casinos, chatting and busting.

Awesome. Tell us more about your real life! Do you study, work?
I'm 24 years old and live in Belgium. I just finished my studies as master business engineering at university. I signed my first job contract and will start working begin September. I'll have to wait and see what that will do with my BL activity...

Congratulations! Tell us more about your job please!
Can't tell the specifics of it since I don't know them myself yet. But I've joined a Young Graduates program at IBM to work as a business analist.

That's awesome. What exactly is a business analist?
You have to analize the business of the client and see which business aspects can be improved to create higher efficiency. This incorporates the implementation of new IT systems/structures to achieve simplfied/improved business processes.

And why do you like that so much?
Because it is very challenging and offers great opportunity to learn and grow. Furthermore I'm passionate about IT and economics so I love the fact that I get to combine both.

Any specific reason why you wanted to work at IBM?
Of course, they are, as you might know, a leading tech company. Which means that you get to work with the latest technology and in an international environment. Furthermore, they have a pretty good young graduate program where you have to opportunity to grow fast and receive training. All those aspects is what you are looking for if you want to boost your career from the start.

Serious business here, I like that! Let's move on to Bootleggers. State of the game, your opinion!
Well first thing I noticed after rejoining (7 years after my previous experience), is that there are some good features which have been added. And some functions are much improved. But, I don't see any radical changes. What I would like to see is some more competitivity in the game. Also, the game should add more 'mafia' in the game. For example, you can perfectly go around without doing any crimes, GTAs or booze runs. The bootlegging itself is not more than a way to earn some extra cash when you are low. What I do and enjoy most in this game is chatting with people and joining or hosting bust parties. Its fairly easy to make a whole lot of money without too much effort. And if you're in a crew (like JP) you can rank up to S.Don without having much to worry for. I would like to see some more competition this game. Crew should be able to hold shootouts and fight over territory. Mafia practices like doing crimes should hold more risk and greater reward. Completing mission should give more interesting rewards. And so on. So in short, I like the game how it is. It's a great way for me to pass some free time. But I can hardly call it a 'mafia' game.

What if you were BSF2000. What and how would you change Bootleggers?
I would make the game itself more interesting. So add more mafia features. For instance, make booze properties (underground factories?) which allow crews to invest and sell booze across states. Use missions so that crew members can make big booze runs and earn money for the crew. Add a function so that crews can rival each other to sell booze in states. Crews would have to protect their territory and should be able to engage shootouts with rivalling crews. This is just an idea I took off the top of my head but I think that there is a lot of potential to make this game more interesting. All it takes is someone willing to code and make more radical changes...

Awesome. Do you believe we need a reset?
A reset would bring back some competitiveness, over bullet factories, crew spots and so on. But it would only bring this additional competitiveness for a short time and eventually the game would go back to its current state. What we need is some changes first, then a reset.

When do you think BSF2000 launches the new crew feature?
Haha good question, if anyone knows it would he him =) So you should ask him I guess. My guess: not any time soon.

Fair enough! Random questions incoming. Favourite dessert?
Crème brûlée.

Disgusting, really. Britney or Jenifer?
Jenifer =)

Facebook or Twitter?
Facebook.

Help Desk Operators or Moderators?
Moderators.

Your best moment on Bootleggers?
Won a dicegame without knowing I entered it. Even won a nice amount of cash!

Haha, alrighty Sonax! What's the story behind your username?
Used to be my nickname on counterstrike, I used to play competitive when I was 16 =D
