Forum Post Of The Week ShyGuyXIX

A possible exploit and a possible roll back?! This week we witnessed plenty of topics about these matters. What if there is really an exploit? Is a roll back definitely needed or is the Elite Guard able to fix everything? I this article I’d like point out my personal view on this week’s happenings. Since the Elite Guard did not inform the community yet it is not 100% sure that there is an exploit, but WHAT IF there is an exploit. What if…

If there is (was) an exploit, it would mean at least one player earned cash on an illegal way. Rumours say the exploit was located at the Slots (owner) page. For the record, only at the Slots page if you truly owned a Slot Machine. That means it is relatively easy to track down the cheaters, however there are some complications. What if the exploiter used the exploit to get a lot cash and gambled it away on casinos of other players? Maybe those players also gambled their cash away and so oooon. Relatively easy to track? I do not think so.

I do not know what kind of tools the Elite Guard has, but I believe it is definitely not easy to track down all the exploited cash. A solution for this problem is a roll back. Technically your account will be rolled back a few days. You promoted two days ago? Well, maybe you might lose your rank and you have to start with your previous rank again. It all depends on how long this exploit has been on Bootleggers.

A roll back, a tool which is barely used. If you look at the history of Bootleggers we did not see a lot roll backs. Not weird, because a roll back is not very fancy. What if you committed more than 3,000 crimes this week? If there is a roll back you did it all for nothing, because you have to start over again. Buy ey, there is no exploited cash anymore!

I personally believe it is too late for a roll back, because I believe the exploit is definitely one week old. This week all the actions of this week are for nothing. The state of the current round is already devastating, so I believe you won’t solve a lot with a roll back. According to a poll on the Game Forum the majority of the community does not want a roll back. Besides, who cares about a few hundred million? Is that really worth a roll back of one week? I believe it is not, but unfortunately only the Elite Guard can make that decision.
