This week we witnessed a massacre on half of the State Dons and thereby opening up some of the better states for people close to the State Don rank. At the time of this writing R2D2 was the one next in line and accepted the invitation to become Illinois State Don. This state was now up for grabs seeing Bunting was killed for it, but not before mystaken got killed for being Michigan state don. LTgruberV1 of New Jersey and C_Jacks00 of New York got killed shortly after which resulted in killing 3 state dons and some of their bodyguards and friends bringing it up to a total of 14 kills. The man responsible for this is known buster Craig with account name Ettore. terrapin saw his fellow crewmembers drop to the ground and acted as a true Nation Don upon it by quick searching Ettore and taking him down in less than 15 minutes. Huh what? 15 minutes? How can that be? Well, in the beginning of this round it became clear that the known quick search for S/N Dons was still unavailable but apparently this feature has been reinstated by the staff, as Sky said: “At the start of this round there was no quick searching for S/N Dons, however after a recent update they can now find their targets in 40 minutes and 10 minutes respectively”. Because of this quick death the Buzz wasn’t able to get an interview with him about his actions and the only comments he gave were presented to us in this topic: “Killing 6 State Dons in a round isn't bad if you ask me”. Obviously it wasn’t his first time wiping a few State Dons of the states page and we can only wait for another action to come by his hands.
Every shooting has a topic and this week it got chosen to be forum post of the week. In this topic it became clear that ‘shooter’ was failing kills and did not have to re-search them. This raised serious questions about bug abuse which could result in a revival of the players who got killed right after a failed attempt on their account. Sky stated in the topic: “And the reason why they didn't have to research is indeed due to a bug, if you fail a kill on a bodyguard then the searches for the S/N Don don't expire, when they should. I will be fixing this momentarily”. While some people might have had their hopes up on this being entirely true it soon became apparent that this was not the case as Sky wrote: “Oh actually I'm wrong, no such bug exists. I'm confused again now.”
This was a bit odd and so we went on to investigate it, of course by questioning Sky about it. When explaining above story and asking for a statement he replied: "I'm still waiting for a response from BSF but as far as I can tell, searches for State and Nation Dons were meant to expire or disappear if you fail. However due to an issue that arose from the inclusion of bodyguards, when the game tried to remove the searches after failing it instead tried to remove the searches for the last bodyguard you shot at. This, to my eyes, is an error so I've fixed it regardless. I created a topic in the EG CF to ask what we should do about it and the response I got was that it's a bug, and as with all bugs we don't compensate. The shooter wasn't intentionally exploiting the bug because he didn't know it was one. As far as we are concerned (right now) the kills are valid."
Bad news for the ones hoping to be revived and I dare say that this is the final word about it. In the nearby future it won't be possible for a killer to fail multiple times on a S/N Don and his or her bodyguards. Hereby creating the possibility for them to take immediate revenge upon a failed kill attempt on their lives. And maybe in this case, some deaths could have been avoided but that’s just the way it goes sometime. For the ones planning on killing a few S/N Dons in the future, don’t try your luck by shooting as little bullets as you might think to succeed, you may fail and blow your cover before you’ve done what you came here to do.
